Re: Hows your TP workin after a few months???

mine has been actin weird lately. What I've noticed is when I'm on the people tab, and press the phone button, it doesn't call the person. After a softreset all works as normal, but if its on for a day or two weird stuff like that starts to happen.

Im having to reset the phone 3-5 times a day now just to make it. Not to mention my battery life is WORSE then ever. I cant take my phone off the charger, get ready for work all the while textin here and there, and after about an hour theres already 30% of my battery life GONE!!!! Ill have the messaging open n once i slide the keyboard out it'll go back to the home screen. Ill probably get a replacement in a few days... but i was wondering if anybody elses performance of their TP has severly decrease since first getting it...
Your account sounds exactly like the way my apache got.

I hope the same doesn't happen with my TP. I ran across this article, some pretty interesting facts about lithium ion batteries.

http://www.batteryuniversity.com/parttwo-34.htm

From that article I can only imagine that not completely discharging my apache probably did it, I certainly didn't use it for more then calls (+ had a period where I hardly even used it for even that) + used DUN very infrequently.

Guided from the article, the hell I plan to put my TP through, since my PMP broke will mean extra batteries also.

Re: Hows your TP workin after a few months???

jburd, its probably acting up because of something you did or added to your phone, not because the hardware is acting up... i recently added a plugin that would cause it to freeze.. uninstalled it and now everythings smooth again. id hard reset and put only what u need as im sure u prob have a lot of stuff u no longer use or need on there... a couple months is enough to figure out what works for u. gooooooodluck.

Re: Hows your TP workin after a few months???

On the two month mark. Had to do a couple hard resets due to some programs I installed causing the phone to malfunction (Advanced Configuration and TF3D Config being two of the culprits), but so far, so good, and very impressed with this device.

Better than new. Got my Bodyguardz protector on and 80% of the essentials and custom cabs and etc.. phone is more functional than ever. No issues with the phone so far.

Re: Hows your TP workin after a few months???

I have gone through several exchanges for one reason or another. I'm pretty picky however. Sprint has really had my back on this one. I can't complain there at all. Current is great. The more I use this phone, the more I fall in like with it! (love is such a strong word, lol)

To the thread opener, this is what I did to make me love my phone again.
I had all the issues you had. Phone was actually running slower than my mogul. I would press the "X" button and some time fight with it for half a minute because it would close if hit twice.

I'm in no way dissappointed with the speed of juggalos rom, but every other rom i've tried is slower and choppy.

Also, in advanced config 3.3

Performances
-----File system cache size= set to 8mb
-----file system filter cache= set to 131072 sectors
-----Glyph cache= set to 128KB

then, using Diamond TF3D config, use tweak#1-4

this is all i do to speed up the performance on juggalos rom, and for once in my rom-flashing life, i will be sticking to a rom that is satisfying.. and i am a VERY picky person when it comes to fluidity.

Re: Hows your TP workin after a few months???

Bought a mid-Oct. build date in late October, finally started tweaking in earnest recently and couldn't be happier with it. It's got a few quirks and flaws but overall better than when I got it.
