dont rule out phcanrc.dll either, its a file phcanhtc is dependent on. i see some video services and slider references in there using PE Explorer

So Sorry Hib. I am still wainting for my phone to finish resetting. Installing all the Sprint stuff. Can you try to uninstall my CAB. Install the Patch twice and let it overwrite. When doing all this and testing it I noticed I think that these files don't get uninstalled correctly I am guessing because they are in use when the phone is on. When I installed the patch a first time it is like that would delete the files because I would be back to the the Diamond stock dialer. Then install it a second time, if it installs correctly you should have the WinMo stock dialer (Mogul style). When you are at that point, try to install my CAB again. Sorry for the hassle.

very nice...I had the other "white" side 2 answer/ingnore and installed a "black" diamond dialer so I just d/l your cab and just over wrote and everything worked just fine.

Sorry I forgot to add some registry entries in the original that have been causing the problems. (Sleep deprived.) It is now fixed and I also added the registry entries for the text color and LSK Contacts, you should not have to do them now. Sorry again.

Installed clean and looks good - haven't received a call yet, but the dialer appears to be functioning perfectly.

However, after installing, the battery display in the top bar is all whacked out - between 100 and 80% battery it's showing 19-18%. Charge status in the both the stock battery applet and nuepower show correct values though.

uninstalling the cab restores the proper battery readings...

Any way to fix this? I would love to use the answer/ignore and love the dialer, but I have a bad habit of draining my battery and really need the proper charge level displayed

are you using the stock battery icon or custom icons? if custom icons you havet o reinstall them after the slider cab. The dll in the slider cab changes the battery icon back to stock, someone has said thats how HTC does it they always change that icon with their dialers for some reason.
