Wait a second... Try tapping the search field and make sure there's a cursor before you press R. Fixed it for me.

Hit that thanks for him if he has helped. In the mean time, I would say read up on flashing a new ROM to your device. That problem would be too much for me.

Funny thing is, I have Y4J's 3.0 ROM and it still dials the first contact on my list when I press R... strange

Re: Unintentional calling in contacts, letter "r"

Mine does it too, it calls sprint. When I use the "full qwerty" keyboard on the screen, and push the key for "r/4", it calls sprint. Actually it seems to call whoever was my last call, I think.

The bug applies to contacts in your built in phone book. Using the soft keyboard type a contact's name with the letter "r" in it. The bug takes over the phone and dials out the FIRST person in your contact book, in my case Account Information

There has been no official word from Sprint or HTC on this matter, and I am unsure if they are even aware of the bug. This could prompt them to push a Touch Pro Update though amongst other fixes (hopefully)

Ah, with the soft keyboard... yep, was able to recreate this. Looks like it dials whatever entry is first in the filtered list (based on the letters you typed before hitting the 'R'). Weird.
