Re: Finally, a silicon/gel "skin" for the Sprint TP...
So in other words, the TP is a big phone that many compare to a brick to begin with and by adding any kind of case you are effectively Turing the TP into a brick.
By the way I use my TP as a Wi-Fi hotspot in my apartment and the internet is blazing fast, unfortunately so is my TP, Blazing hot! So wouldn't adding an extra layer of silicon insulation make it even hotter? Not to mention that all of the docking cradles I have seen on eBay and have read about on PPCGeeks are a tight fit without adding extra fat, so any kind of case would ruin your option of using a cradle, no thank you! Me personally, I went to a company called GadgetGuardz, they installed a clear plastic film over my entire phone. I have dropped it lightly and no damage. I am not willing to throw it at the cement to test how strong it is but I am sure that even with the silicon case you cant curb stomp your TP and expect it to still surf the net. |

Re: Finally, a silicon/gel "skin" for the Sprint TP...
Tibman, I take the protection of my device more seriously than the looks. So if I'm carrying it in the holster, I might as well get a holster that looks nice.

Re: Finally, a silicon/gel "skin" for the Sprint TP...
I want to get the silicon case, but I am concerned about removing it to stick in my spare battery. Can I easily swap batteries with this case or does it become a PIA?

Re: Finally, a silicon/gel "skin" for the Sprint TP...
I have the clear hard shell case for my phone. It's 2 pieces and they each snap on and they have little small tabs that hold each on...so they are independent of each other.
I also have a black silicon feeling one that does the same thing...each piece is independent of the other. Just snaps on. I like the clear because it shows the chrome...I don't like the clear because dust and stuff gets behind it and you can see it. BTW, the cases I have...if you have Ghost armor, BSE, IS, whatever skin all over your phone...the case will not fit over it.

The case this tread is referring to is a soft jelly-like case. I am asking how easy is it to remove to change the battery on the fly? |

Well you still have to remove the gel skin, but it's much easier and safer than the hard case.

Re: Finally, a silicon/gel "skin" for the Sprint TP...
Yea getting the back off with the hard cases can be kind of a pain...the font is easier to get off.
His pictures looked identical to the black hard/rubber case I have (I don't have it on my phone, but I have it)...but its not silicon jelly feeling... |

Re: Finally, a silicon/gel "skin" for the Sprint TP...
Does the case uses those little "flaps" to clip on the side or the edge of the phone? Or it has those plastic sliders that interlocks them together?

Re: Finally, a silicon/gel "skin" for the Sprint TP...
I think I am going to go ahead and purchase the soft gel case with the gliding tracks. The OP mention in his first post that the case is easy to put on, so I am assuming that it is easy to take off as well to change the battery.
I tried one of the hard cases on my TP in the mall and I did not like how it prys the two halves apart. It also seem like it might scratch my phone removing it daily to change battery on the fly. |
