Either way you probably don't need HTC GPS to prime the chip as long as the timeout in your gps enabled program is long enough to let you get a lock.

But, yes, with QGPS, youl'll get locks in under 30 seconds so there's definitely no need to use anything else.

I don't suppose anyone is willing to modify this to work with Sprint's HTC Touch Pro so we can benefit too =]

If you have a Sprint touch pro on Sprint, you don't need this. if you have a Sprint Touch Pro on Verizon, the v2 fix works (at least on NexVision's ROM and probably the leaked stock VZW ROM)

There was also someone who said that scotts VZNAV 3.0 ROM was working in a verizonized TP.

No, not that I am aware of. VZ Nav is something that has to be activated on your phone from Verizon.

Have you tried Garmin Mobile XT? Has audio turn-by-turn and works pretty great imho.

How do you get it to recognize your GPS? It just keeps trying to detect a bluetooth GPS.

I can confirm this fix works on verizonized sprint touch pro running vzw leaked rom.

Question, if I exit the htc gps tool and google maps, how do I know that the gps is turned off?

follow up question: is there a way to load the htc communications manager onto a verizonized sprint touch pro so I can get the toggle switch back in there?

I would have to vote yes on the agps, to me having it fully functional will make this device as worthy as it is going to get. Being that we cant fix the crippled ram amount we have on the verizon pro, fully unlocked gps and agps like the titan had would make it worth while to me at least. I like the agps as when in doors it can get a lock in more cases than with just quick gps and normal sat locks. Bored your work is greatly appreciated and I thank you for your time that you are taking to bring us phase 3. I eagarly and patiently await for this to come. Thank you.

I vote a definite yes for agps. When it came out on the titan it was so great. The gps just worked no matter what...no primer, no qgps..just 5 second locks all the time no matter what. Bored..please release agps, you've done so much already for this device...you cant hold back on us now...lol..

I've been wondering the same thing but been working on so many different things I havent had time to run it thru a few trials. When I get a chance I'll connect my TP and see if the gps will actually shut down. That use to be a problem with the Titan's. You could turn the chip on but couldnt shut it off. My solution was to do a simple soft reset when I wanted to make sure it was off.

I'll look into it though
