Re: is upgrading really worth it?

to get back on topic...

the title of my post may be a bit misleading. the question wasnt aimed at whether the phone itself was worth it... i am still evaluating that...

the question was meant to be...

is it worth updating the ROM from stock to cooked? will THAT buy me better performance and elimination of the occasional lagginess?

which is why i grouped you in with the others that always have to find something to complain about. the vast majority however have no issues and find that the phone outperforms the apache and mogul (which, by the way, it does).

i have done the reading thank you, i'm not new here and i've seen countless posts like this by people who are completely uninformed and uneducated.

as far as my kitchen, it's funny that you've made a such a ridiculous inference, especially considering that my kitchen is one of the newer, easier to use kitchens available, not to mention it was the first available for the touch pro.

like baffles said, if you're debating on whether to return your pro after upgrading from your apache because of occassional "lagginess" you might as well just get rid of both and get a motorola flip phone. obviously you're one of those who have to nitpick at EVERYTHING and will never really be happy. and i suppose it wouldn't really matter if i pointed out that the pro is a HUGE UPGRADE from any other winmo device before it.

as far as kitchens and improving performance, do a little reading (for the thousandth time) and try the different ROMs and/or kitchens. everyone has their opinions and what someone thinks is the greatest is not so for another.
I have to say, I don't think this is really fair. If he was using an Apache before this, I'm sure he has dealt with his share of bugs. Baffles' post was contradicting itself:

The way this is worded, he is saying that if edufur is debating whether or not to take the Pro back, he should do it in favor of the Apache. Baffles then goes on to say that he himself would not take an Apache over the Pro.

Considering Baffles has a Touch Pro, I think he is saying edufur should keep it. Baffles has been extremely helpful in other posts, so I think this was just a small lapse in typing. No biggie, we all have them.

Re: is upgrading really worth it?

if ur coming from a 6700, why wouldnt u keep it? its a 6700 on roids, and two generations newer. and much more techology.

hell, the vga resolution alone is worth the upgrade

Re: is upgrading really worth it?

I was playing with my XV6800 and my TP last night. I was thinking about how quick the 6800 was compared to the TP, I was very wrong. And the screen... Wow. No way I'd ever go back.

yes, however the post *was* regarding returning the pro because of some "lagginess" with touchflo and the scroll bars.

while i can agree the apache had bugs, comparing it to the pro and debating whether to return it for lag from a scroll bar is absurd.
