is upgrading really worth it?

Ok, so I just got the touch pro. I am trying it out for now but may still return it. So far I like the size better than my apache and i like the touchflo 3d. but...

I am not very impressed with the occasional lagginess... like when scrolling with the scroll bar and when loading a program.

Is a cooked ROM the solution? Has anyone done any performance tests with the stock rom vs. newer roms?

Also, which kitchen is best for sprint? BuildOS or eRice? what are the actual known bugs with the kitchens? people post individual stuff, but I havent seen any judgeable pattern.

thanks.

If you are debating between the pro and the apache, then by all means, return it. You would be hardpressed to pay me enough to take a Titan or Apache over the Pro.

So in one sentence, you say return it, but in the other you say you wouldnt... I don't understand.

Also, does anyone have answers to my questions about the kitchens and the possibility of improving performance?

it's not that hard to understand...

like baffles said, if you're debating on whether to return your pro after upgrading from your apache because of occassional "lagginess" you might as well just get rid of both and get a motorola flip phone. obviously you're one of those who have to nitpick at EVERYTHING and will never really be happy. and i suppose it wouldn't really matter if i pointed out that the pro is a HUGE UPGRADE from any other winmo device before it.

as far as kitchens and improving performance, do a little reading (for the thousandth time) and try the different ROMs and/or kitchens. everyone has their opinions and what someone thinks is the greatest is not so for another.

Re: is upgrading really worth it?

According to this thread, you gave it 6 minutes of thought between posting the question and then returning the device!

Why bother asking, as you obviously had your mind made up.

i am not the only one who has noticed lagginess. there have been plenty of similar complaints as mine. how about you do a little reading and you will see for yourself. i see nothing productive in this response. which tells me that your kitchen probably has little to offer as well.

what are you getting 6 minutes from? in the very first post of this thread I stated I was debating on taking it back. not sure what you are getting at. my mind isn't made up yet.

it also doesn't help that this device does not have VOIP capability. apache did, although it was crap. i would think that this "improved" device would have that ability.
