Re: HTC Volume Font - Not a size issue
Well, I have managed to get the font smaller but there seems to be some inconsistancy when it comes to naming the TF3D font files lol.
Some stuff I managed to get shrunk down the first time has now enlarged while yet other fonts I couldn't seem to get to shrink, are. It's like the phone isn't sure what files to use for fonts. All of the .ttf files are identical except for the naming. Between the three or 4 different tutorials for fonts on TF3D, I have managed to aquire a total of 9 different font names...these do include the 2 winmo system fonts. We have: cour.ttf tahoma.tff tahomabd.tff neue helvetica 35 thin.ttf neue helvetica 55 roman.ttf neue Helvetica LT 35 Thin.tff neue Helvetica LT 55 Roman.tff Helvetica LT 55 Roman.tff Helvetica LT 35 Thin.tff Currently, the font I am having a problem accepting the new font is the the font used on the settings tab. The first time I tried shrinking the font, I was able to get the smaller fonts to accept the new font file but the title fonts would not. Now I finally for the titles toaccept but the smaller fonts won't lol. It's been a vicious cycle. |

Re: HTC Volume Font - Not a size issue
LOL yeah I think I stayed up all night one night trying to do this. Did you also do the Tools/Autonaming part in the FontCreator? Even though you change the title of the font "XXXXXXX.ttf", some things use the aliases of the font. Like the font I am using is MARCO-H.ttf, but the alias of it is MarcosHand. If you didn't that may be why it is changing for some things but not the others. Autonaming will apply the aliases for the fonts. If you didn't do it, check that XDA thread again and try to do that. Best of luck again.

Re: HTC Volume Font - Not a size issue
Ya I did the autonaming. The real problem I think I am running into now is...what really is the correct names to use. Since deleting them doesn't automagically cause the stock ones to reappear (like deleting manila files does), I have no way of knowing what the actual original font names had been. Unless I flash back to stock which is not totally out of the question.
Trying to do a search results in the font names as you see them above which makes it hard to know what the phone is actually using. Inserting one by one doesn't seem to work very well either because WinMo doesn't always seem to take to changes the first time plus the original files have been over written thus no longer reliable. If I remove them all I get a mix of default font and my star wars font lol. Geesh, what have I gotten myself into. |

Re: HTC Volume Font - Not a size issue
Sorry. I also noticed installing them one by one would cause conflicts. Like I installed tahoma.ttf and some things changed. Uninstalled that and installed tahomabd.ttf thinking the other things would change, but they didn't. Installed both tahoma.ttf and tahomabd.ttf and everything changed. Wierd it was like it needed both to change. Maybe just use the Star Wars font for TF3D so that it can match your theme, but something else for WinMo so that it fits better. That is actually why I used different fonts, also some fonts (the one I used for TF3D) does not have a character for all the Glyphs.
Post the Star Wars font you are trying to use? I will check it out. Last edited by MrHawaii; 12-19-2008 at 04:40 PM. |
