i'm sure it's in a dll, I don't remember which one I suspected, but I don't know how to hack those anyway.

I found this info on another website, now I have to find a way to cook my own "tchsoft.wav" and "tchloud.wav" into my ROMs.

Code:

"The sound played when screen is tapped is not a wav file. Looking through Windows CE source code, I found that during OS image building two wave files tchsoft.wav and tchloud.wav are embedded into a waveapi.dll as resources."

ok, so does someone have some sounds in mind?
I confirm it's waveapi.dll.
I'm not sure how change them in the cooking process other than cooking a different dll.
it so happens I have a utility that will let me play and edit sounds in dll's.
I just need something to put in there. and then find an easy way to change (hopefully cab works)

This might be too old of a thread to reply to but here goes anyway...

Instead of screen taps (that would drive me crazy because it would happen too often), is there a way to change the sound for hardware buttons?

In a prior post, someone mentioned needing a sound for the dll. I'm not sure how to edit dll sounds but if I could, I'd add the communicator sound from Star Trek the next generation found here:
