Re: OMG!! My keyboard stopped working!!!
I'd like to add that I had my keyboard pretty much die as well. Sprint swapped out my phone thanks to TEP though, so I'm quite thankful for that.

Re: OMG!! My keyboard stopped working!!!
Same here. I'm on my 2nd TP, because my keyboard died as well. TEP replaced a week later with no deductible. It was just defective equipment.

Re: OMG!! My keyboard stopped working!!!
My keyboard starting failing on Wednesday. My replacement should be here monday or tuesday. I didn't have to worry about "proving" that it didn't work anymore.... thank god for having a friend that works at a Sprint store.

Re: OMG!! My keyboard stopped working!!!
I had this issue with my first TP. Replacing/Exchanging did the trick. I had to pay my Asurion deductible($50), though. =/

Re: OMG!! My keyboard stopped working!!!
Just had my keyboard fail on me today. Sucks to becuase I've had the phone since December and thought I lucked into getting a relatively decent one. I've got to let the battery charge a bit so I can flash to stock and relock. I thought at first it was because I had literally just flashed the 5/7 release of MightROM 5. I've soft reset, hard reset, reflashed via PC and SD, and even reflashed the 4/25 MR5 release. Tried this stuff multiple times without any of it making any difference.
It's funny because after all the problems I had with my Mogul I was really enjoying the TP. I guess I jinxed myself becaues I always joked with a coworker that if this one went tits up I was going to do what he did and switch to a Palm product. He went from a 6700 with problems to a Mogul with problems and is finally happy with his 800W. Maybe while I'm there I'll take a look at the 800W or Treo Pro. I think I'd only miss the screen size. I don't use anything with the gsensor other than playing around, would still have a hard keyboard, and I guess should be fine with one. We'll see. Will update on what ends up happening.

Re: OMG!! My keyboard stopped working!!!
Well, went to the local corporate store. Guy there said because I'm out of the 30 days he can't do anything, but because I'm in the 1 year I can take it to the service center. So off to the service center I went. Told them about the keyboard and girl behind the counter said she'd take a look at it. After a little small talk, them oogling over my Bestskinsever.com full body protector, a little harmless flirting, she came out and said that she didn't have the parts to fix it because it was a newer phone, but that she ordered a new, not refurb, replacement for free.

Re: OMG!! My keyboard stopped working!!!
This just happened to me, I hard reset and everything, keyboard still wouldn't work anymore, my Sprint store could not replace the keyboard, they had to order another TP, I strongly insisted they make sure that they are sent a brand new one, and no refurb, after all the turmoil I've been through with refurbs before. They did, a brand new one is on the way (for free, no deductible, thank God, after all, it's a defect, not user mess-up).
This is still really unfortunate, I know some Sprint stores actually have the parts and training to open TP's and replace the keyboards rather than get another few hundred dollar phone. Now I also had to order another invisible shield full body skin (arrrg!)...I really wanted this bad boy to stay strong with me till I can upgrade to a Tegra based device (TP3 maybe???)...hopefully this replacement will be perfect... |
