Re: Sprint Touch Pro $199.99 with 2/yr upgrade or new BESTBUY 12-14-08!

Well I just went into one of the two local bb's by me that I've gone to for about the 8th time in the last couple of months trying to get this phone. I spoke to the manager and he told me it was only for new customers or existing customers who are out of their 2 years contract. I told him I knew many other existing customers who were still within their 2 year agreement were getting this deal. He said if other stores are breaking store policy that is their problem but not something he was going to do.

And that's it I'm done with this ****ing phone. I'll wait till next year till the HD comes or something similar. I'm not going to pay $500 bucks for what I feel isn't that big of an improvement over my mogul. Oh and I will never ever use bb again to try to get a phone through them.

Yeah, the activitation was waived, it's a good thing I got this phone yesterday, because it's snowing cats and dogs here in Denver, Colorado. Still I'm on my way to BB to get my $100 back.

This phone is awesome, I'm happy that I did not get the Xperia X1a now. The first app I installed on my new phone was the SlingBox software, works great....

Are you within 22 to 24 months into your current contract? If not, they are correct, others have been lucky. Also know that some people might be White Glove and not know it, and they get a upgrade every 12 months. You can only be selected for this program if you have been with Sprint for over eight years, or you monthly bill is high, and they are selected by a 3rd party (Not Sprint, a contractor hired by Sprint) based on payment history and whatever other factors they dream up for the program... If you want to learn more research Sprint White Glove program, but again, Sprint can't sign you up for it, you have to be selected for it.

Sorry about your problems, maybe buy one later when the price is dropped, or one off Ebay...

Re: Sprint Touch Pro $199.99 with 2/yr upgrade or new BESTBUY 12-14-08!

The ad just says 2 year contract renewal, nothing about that you must be out of contract in order to renew. I just renewed/renegotiated with Sprint last week, only for them to tell me the TP was still on backorder. BB says I am eligible, because I did not use the $150 off towards any handset yet. So to get the $199 price, the worst that will happen is that my contract gets reset on the day that I get the TP activated. This was not easy however because they couldn't understand that signing up for another 2 years doesn't mean that I already purchased a handset. They had to look up my Sprint account info... Hope this helps.

SCORE! 2 of them reserved in the BB store 150 miles from here. Confirmed $199 each with the family plan. Lovely day for a road trip - artic blast just popped in yesterday and it's about 5 degrees F right now.

Updates from the road per VZW coverage. LOL!

Re: Sprint Touch Pro $199.99 with 2/yr upgrade or new BESTBUY 12-14-08!

Just an FYI, I purchased my TP back on 11/14 for 179.99 at Best Buy. I had checked online frequently to see when the TP would be up on the website and late at night I saw it for $279.99 PLUS a $100 mail in rebate (online only special). The next morning I booked it to Best Buy and showed the mobile salesperson and he just did a price match. Crazy thing is the deal was off the website the very next day! So word to the wise keep your eyes open and check back often on the website for weird short term deals!
