Are you within 22 to 24 months into your current contract? If not, they are correct, others have been lucky. Also know that some people might be White Glove and not know it, and they get a upgrade every 12 months. You can only be selected for this program if you have been with Sprint for over eight years, or you monthly bill is high, and they are selected by a 3rd party (Not Sprint, a contractor hired by Sprint) based on payment history and whatever other factors they dream up for the program... If you want to learn more research Sprint White Glove program, but again, Sprint can't sign you up for it, you have to be selected for it.
Sorry about your problems, maybe buy one later when the price is dropped, or one off Ebay...
