Talking Arcsoft MMS Sends AND Recieves on my Touch Pro

I can CONFIRM that ArcSoft DOES send and RECIEVE on a Sprint Touch Pro.

Here is how:

Install Juggalo TP ROM v0.5B for Sprint:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=49341

Install Arcsoft MMS (this is the one I used):
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=48881

This was all that was done after the ROM install. Since then I have put my normal apps in place and everything is still working fine.

I tested recieving and sending both SMS and MMS by sending myself messages from Sprints Website:
http://pictures.sprintpcs.com
http://messaging.sprintpcs.com

I don't know about a newer version of Arcsoft, I've only tried v3.0.6.22. I don't know about TF3D hanging up yet, I'll run it though its paces for the next day or so and post up any other issues I find.

Now if I could only get a newer version with Sprint settings for it.

Re: Arcsoft MMS Working on My Touch Pro - 12/8/08

Hopefully it works the way it use to before they started blocking it.

I dont use TF3D anymore.. Too slow for me. I like my HTC VGA home plugin.Plus I can use all my other plugins with it in one view without having to use second today. TF3D really takes away from this devices full potential, it also displays and demonstrates it's potential as well.

Re: Arcsoft MMS Sends AND Recieves on my Touch Pro

Ok... Arcsoft v3.0.6.22 is working OK so far... No real hangups, though I have been hard resetting alot. I've tried to get Arcsoft v5.0.70.24 to work but no dice... I get errors when trying to send, if the compose screen even comes up it usually takes a couple soft resets to get it to open. And when it does you can't pic any pictures but use the camera. So no dice yet there. I'm on the hunt for other versions... So maybe I can get a newer one working that intergrates better into the phone.

Re: Arcsoft MMS Working on My Touch Pro - 12/8/08

Ok... New update, I spent almost a day just hard resetting my phone with different versions of Arcsoft. Here are versions I was able to find cabs for (most not for Sprint, but I udated what settings I could find).

Arcsoft MMS 5.0.27.25.CAB
- Gets No Errors When Sending, and Completes
- Message NEVER delivers to http://pictures.sprintpcs.com
- Sending from http://pictures.sprintpcs.com, Picture mail is Recieved
- Clean intergration, even with threaded SMS
- SMS sending and recieving still working fine

ArcSoft MMS 5.0.27.43.cab
- Same as v5.0.27.25

Arcsoft MMS 5.0.31.7.cab
- Same as v5.0.27.25

Arcsoft MMS 5.0.70.24.cab
- Fails all over the place
- Not even worth attempting to tweak on

So, what I'm down to is the newer versions are completly working but for some reason they are never delivering to the network, but the software is getting the OK that they sent successfully. I tried mirroring the v3.x user agent and adjusting some other registry settings to match the FULLY working old version and no luck. If anyone else has any ideas on getting an updated version of Arcsoft to work I'm open to trying them out.

The old version there is a green play symbol I think to add more, the newer versions, honestly I'm not sure yet since it fully intergrates into the WM6.1 Threaded SMS and doesn't really hint that you can send more than one at a time.

Oh... Another bonus to the latest versions, shell intergration (similar to how the Sprint MMS adds options to the Picture Viewer), and you can send other file types such as vCards, and I think video (well it was letting me select videos, but none were under the 300k limits and I can get send to work either to begin with).

I didn't know that they had logs to be honest. Nice find and thanks for the input. I came accross an app that can sniff the cell packets, so if there is just the WAP headers missing, this is fixable. Since there is a WAP header section in the registry, I would hope that the app is including anything added. I'm betting since I get NO errors sending, but never recive, it is because the from number is missing. My guess is that the from and dates were removed from the application because that allowed the end user to "forge" messages. Leaving this extra stamping to be done by the provider, and since we all know Sprint does not support this, they probably aren't stamping the messages either. When Juggalo's new rom releases (sounds like tomorrow) I'll do some more hard resetting and packet sniffing between the versions and compair. If I can find the difference in the header I'll try and include the missing settings in the registry and see if that fixes everything. As for the missing date, I hope that isn't a problem, cause I can't think of a quick fix other than a fixed date added to the registry for that one.

Expect some updates within a day or so of Juggalo's next release

Re: Arcsoft MMS Working on My Touch Pro - 12/8/08

I have a TP and I'm using the stock ROM and have installed Arcsoft version 3.0.6.22. I can send pictures out, but do not get a notification when someone sends me one. I did change the server settings as instructed in one of the posts below:

Use your regedit program and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI
Click to open EnableServerEdit and change the key from 0 to 1. Soft reset (if you need).

Go to your pocket outlook mail box. It should show you that you are have an mms folder. Select menu, then select MMS Configuration. Select the Severs tab and Change

http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlets/mms

to

http://63.215.195.152/servlets/mms

Any insight on how to get a notification when someone sends me a pic mail? Thank you. Also, is there anyway to access your address book when sending to someone. Right now you have to just type in ther phone number on the version i'm using. Unfortunately, i don't have everyone's phone number memorized.

Any help would be great!
