Figured out how to link from my Amazon S3 account, so I think I'm set. Thanks!

Re: Alltel users what rom are you running?

After using this phone for a few days, I am seriously considering taking it back or selling it.

I just don't really care for the feel of it and the keyboard is not that great of an improvement, like I thought it would be.

For those of you out there that have owned the Diamond before or in addition to the Pro, what are you thoughts?

Conflip I know you've messed with all three, any input here?

I'm aware that the Diamond does not have the SD card slot and has the 4 G hard wired in to it, that's not really an issue with me at this time.

I am going to reactivate my Vogue tomorrow and look in to the Diamond. If I don't care for the Diamond I'll sell it or give it to the lady and wait for the next HTC to come out.

Any input would be appreciated.

The Diamond was nice, but the on screen texting drove me insane... It'd take me 3 minutes to bang out a proper text message that takes me 30 seconds on the Pro... If I didn't do emails and texting, the Diamond wouldn't be bad...

I got used to the using the stylus on the vogue and have tried my best to use the keyboard on the Pro and it's just not working for me.

I do have to admit I have chubby fingers (not a fat guy overall, just chubby digits) and I tend to keep my fingernails really short. Between the two the keyboard isn't really all that great for me.

I don't care to much for the thickness of the Pro and that's due to the keyboard that I don't really care for... Jeez, I'm sounding rather b!tchy about this one.

I can't activate my Vogue online at alltel.com for some reason and naturally Alltel's call center was closed when I tried to call them tonight.

I may give it one more day, but I honestly see this Pro going back to Alltel and the Diamond coming home with me soon.

My thoughts on the two. The vogue, I dont look at anymore really. It is still a nice phone. But with the VGA screens I am hooked. The size factor of the Pro is not something I enjoy. I like something a lot smaller. The diamond is nice, except for the 4gb size. That is what I can not stand. It drives me insane just having that much. It is already full on the 2nd day I had it. With the Pro i have a 16gb card in there. so it is a difference.

Speed wise they are very close, the pro does have the edge here, mainly because of more memory. not a huge deal though. After typing on the vogue for so long, i got use to the onscreen keys. And so the diamond is what i use the most. Size factor is great, VGA is great. 4gb is BAD.

But if you are use to using the on screen keyboard then go with the diamond. You should be happy. I have also tried using the Keyboard, and about the only thing I find it comes in handy for is for talking on MSN. aside from that, then no, I dont really like the Pro to much either. That is just me though.

Out of curiosity, has anyone had a chance to give my ROM a shot? I'll make a main post for it if it's working well for Alltel users...

You're a hardcore geek and a developer, so I could see 4GB not working for you! For me I have an 8GB in both my Vogue and Pro and I've barely used over a gig at this point, so I don't see that being a pressing issue, at least not in the near future.

I do like the Wifi in the Pro. Alltel's service rocks here in my locale, but there is a place or two where they don't get signal and having the Wifi is nice. Diamond has that feature.

The Pro is going back today and the Diamond will get a test drive. I have a feeling I will like it better than the Pro.

Activating the Vogue in 3...2...1....

I was going to load it and give it a run on my Pro, but since it's going back to Alltel it's kind of a moot point.

I already need to go back to stock and re-lock the Pro.

Otherwise, I'd try it.

I've had a Mogul, Touch, Diamond, and Pro, and there's no way I could go back to any of the other phones. I gave my Mogul to my wife, and I can barely stand to use it.

As far as the Diamond, typing is just plain faster for me on the pro keyboard compared to the Diamond on screen keyboard. Not that the Diamond keyboard was hard to type on or anything, but I'm just a lot faster on the Pro. You said you have chubby fingers and don't have nails? You're going to hate typing on the Diamond. It requires fingertips/nails to be accurate.

However, the biggest thing for me was the storage card. I had the Diamond full of music faster than I realized. I had plenty of music, but if I wanted to add more, I had to get rid of some. Forget about movies. Now with my Pro, i have a 16gb, I have 5 movies, 5 gb of music, a ton of apps/pictures, and still 4 gb to spare. Not to mention when a 32gb card comes out, I can just put that in and be good to go.

The one thing about the Diamond is the fact that the FM radio can be made to work on it, where it's still not working on the Pro.

In short, if they ever re-released the Diamond with a card slot, I'd probably go back to it. The difference in keyboards isn't that great.

I don't mind using the stylus to "type" and in that I may be a lone gunman (HAHA), but it's the truth. My laptop is with me the majority of the time as I have an online business and it's basically a necessity. Tethering is a very nice thing for me and it's made me even more mobile.

Unfortunately, there are some things that are so much easier on a laptop than a smart phone. It's about a 50/50 split right now. 50% of my biz the phone is fine, 50% of the time I really need the laptop to work efficiently.

I am going to pick up the Diamond today or tomorrow and give it a run. I already miss the VGA screen, but I don't miss the size of the Pro, the weight and lack of a useful GPS.

PS - I do have fingernails, I just tend to keep them short.
