Well it shows the unlocked screen for a few seconds then it continues on to the progress bar.

I'd agree with conflipper here, sounds like your device is not unlocked. To double check, soft reset your device, and hold down the Volume Down and Power buttons when it starts back up. This will take you into a sort of "flashing" mode. You MUST see the words "SPL-0.37.CMONEX". If device does not say that anywhere, or is slightly different, your device is still locked. Follow the instructions at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503 to unlock, then you can flash with con's ROM. Happy hacking!

Was nice to find this post. I was bummed to see it died in Dec. I am with Alltel as well and have the touch pro. I have tried the follow rom's on mine, M5, star rom 1.6, juicy's, merdin and finally the one that has worked the best for me has been RSTG Roms - Spb MobileShell Raph vG53.MS31.16 WM6.5 5/17/09

This is working good for me no big issues. Once in a while when I shut down the phone and try to update software it will say no connection to the internet is detected. Then if I launch my internet explorer and try again it works fine. Seems to be looking for my managed networks.

Well hope that this post finds some life for us Alltel user's. The rom I am using is more for sprint user's but is working okay for me until the next flash comes along. I am thinking about trying the new !!!!StarROM 2.0 (The New Beginning) WM 6.5 5.2.21222!!!!

for some reason all the roms except RSTG had issues with loading older software would not load. The RSTG has wroked very good for me. Hope to hear from other Alltel users on what rom is working for you.

IM on ALLTEL too...i've used a few ROMS but the ones I like alot are MM ROMs. Right now Im running stock I was having issues with PSYKI rom so I just flashed to stock. I've gotten MMS to work on MIGHTY ROMS. I stilll use the stock radio too.
