But the rest of my post is correct. I watched the movie "Burn After Reading" on my TP with no issues, no slowdowns or sync issues. WMP is horrid and has no options to change to increase its performance (Does Kinoma play WMV files?). As far as games I have Tiger Woods Golf and Billards Master 3 on the TP and both work fine. Also the fact that Teeter runs so smooth and looks sharp makes me think its all in the programming....

Try this trailer http://rapidshare.de/files/41053549/...0_128.avi.html , then talk.
Use Core Player 1.2.5 with Qtv, High Quality, Smooth On. Don't cheat and set to Medium Quality.

Now we talk about DirectDraw performance, there are software that uses this technology.
On Samsung Omnia with DirectDraw (134.21%) that video works without glitch. On Touch Pro you can get up to 78.26%.

If you give us Teeter as an example.. wow, that game indeed uses a lot of MIPS (milion instructions per seconds) in background. Let's be serios.

Also, why don't you try one of the following by yourself: DragonBall, Prince of Persia HD, RATS!!?

Re: Graphics Performance issues?

he's right about teeter. The programming is specific for this device so the physics work out great. In the world of video games, physics take up a lot of cpu cycles. Without the right programming, physics can make a game go from 60fps to under 10. I used to see it on my computer at home until nvidia bought up physX. It was all in the drivers, no hardware upgrade required, and physics performance went through the roof.

Well, from that standpoint, why didnt htc include a video player optimized for the pro? Wouldnt that solve most of our worries?

I can understand older games not working for our pro due to it not being programmed for it (arm11 vs arm9), but we dont have alot of options because no one is making games specifically for us, thats why theres excess b!tching and moaning.

Agreed. It's ok to have opinions just remember not everyone will share that opinion. Don't get bent out of shape and keep it civil. If you can't, do what I did and stop posting. Once you find yourself repeating the same things over and over again to the same people you begin to realize it's not your place to change peoples minds. Only give them another point of view and leave it at that.

Re: Graphics Performance issues?

boy? nubs? I really don't want to go into a flame, so I will not reply to your calls

I just wanted to show you that you are wrong, that this sentence is false (Ok, to say it better: not always true, it depends on many factors) "You nubs should use Core Player for Divx playback. Once you adjust a few settings and increase the buffer size the playback is flawless.".

Anyone is free to test the provided video and see exactly how it perform.

And oh, CorePlayer doesn't fix the problems with games .. CorePlayer may be the solution for video playback, but it still doesn't offer perfect playback.
We need a solution for DirectDraw/2D drivers.
