This is why you just keep the phone in your pocket I have never once dropped a phone, but I have come close.. sometimes you can snag your finger on your pocket or something, but I just try to be careful, since this phone is $599+, (people forget that it's not really $299.)

I dropped my 6700 a lot and it got a ton of dings, but kept ticking... I swear I once watched it BOUNCE across a parking lot, and it didn't even drop the call. Gotta love a workhorse...

i have not dropped my phone at all but have two chrome chips...it sucks...i dont know the ESN range for this problem but i dont think i fall in that range. IMO...an ESN range is bogus. the chrome is cheap.

I was keeping it in the case cause I noticed a tiny scratch on the screen after pocketing it at first, well its back to being pocketed now. I'm not worried about the price of the phone, cause I have insurance, I'm just concerned about the wait time for replacements.

My 6800 flew out of my hoody pocket at the go kart track, got ran over by 2 karts, and only suffered a couple scuffs. It landed screen down too, and worked fine thereafter.

Does anyone have any idea how hard it is to take pics of this phone, with all the shinyness of it? Anyway, here are some pics of all the damage this thing sustained from 2 short drops. I agree that the phone shouldn't be expected to emerge damageless, but it is actually kind of crappy how fragile this thing really is, compared to the mogul (or even in comparison, my iPod touch, which suffered my sister dropping it in the driveway from a higher height than the TP was dropped from and only had a tiny dent, no chunks or cracks).

i got a nice case on ebay! the case has loops and a clip ( i use the loops and it is like fixed on me. also the phone fits very snug so it wont budge. ill link if anyone wants

Isn't that what the screen protector is for? (aside from making your finger slide more smoothly)

I have dropped every phone I've had and will continue to drop every phone I get, including the TP I have now. With that said, It's gonna happen to most of us one way or another, and damage will be worse for some than others, Unless you put your phone in a glass case, on a pedestal, in your living room, and don't touch it! ...It's just a phone folks! I know It's expensive but that's what INS is for right?
