Here is how you rescan the library.

under device, application data, htc...there is a .vol file. Delete this, and the music application will rescan your library. You have have to use total commander to just rename the file since windows locks it.

I wish there was an easier way to do this...hopefully in a future update.

Eff it. First, I can't believe no one else is having THIS problem. And second, I've come to the conclusion that the program sucks. I'm using Media Player.

I am experiencing the same issue, trust me. It's so dang frustrating trying to get my library right.

For some reason when I sync my music and I go into WMP and go to "all artists" it lists way more artists than are really there. It's annoying because the same album will be listed under 2 or more different artists. I'm not really sure how else to explain this but I only want the artists that are listed when I sync my songs.

Has anyone ever some up with another way to do this besides deleting the .vol file? I find it hard to believe that the music program does not have an option to scan for new tracks. Also, where are the two annoying sample tracks that came on the phone stored? I can't find them in file explorer and want to delete those!

I just press the library tab on that pannel. Then, move over to "All Songs" and it lists the current available songs, as opposed to "Now Playing" attempting to show what was there prior to alteration.

I've observed the same thing on my VzW TP2. searching is what led me to this. To the best of my knowledge I did go to WMP mobile and update the library. It doesnt seem to impact whats in the HTC "now playing" list. I sent HTC support a question about this. we'll see what comes back. I also posted to the VzW forum boards about it.
