Is this a poll about the Design of the phone or the case?

There isn't even a question about performance...

And question 3... How is HTC mis-representing the phone? What does that have to do with the comparison between Sprint and VZN?

Sorry ya'll. I was not trying to bash the phone, just presenting the like\dislikes and figured you all could mention other informative diffrences. I know that buring the rom would enable GPS, but I thought I would get the discussions\thoughts going (and perhaps some encouragement because it may be me that cooks up the cab hack). I am not really mad as hell at this phone, I really like it and I got both of mine for free. I am just wondering if they should call this the HTC Fuze rather than the HTC Pro as the shell looks more like ATT then the Sprints TP.

I don't think anyone thinks you are bashing the phone but your poll questions are a bit confusing and don't make alot of sense...

Sorry to say, but Sprint's network is not close to 100% as good as Verizon. Just look at converage maps and user-reviews. Its simple.

As far as the GPS issue, I'm sure its going to be a simple fix, nothing that the wonderful QPST program can't solve (Just like GPS issue on the XV6800).

I'm just waiting on mine, stupid FedEx skipped my delivery today thinking we were closed... Rediculous! I'll post if I get successful GPS operation...

Well.... from my experience I had vzn for 4 years then switched to sero. Omg... I save 140 dollars a monthon the switch. And from my personal experience its about 95% close in realibility to vzn netgwork. I have not had one dropped call in 15 months. But,I have ezperienced what some otherss hhave experience last weekend. Some calls were not comming thru

well ive had the pro on the first couple days of its launch ...these are my major issues

Incoming calls are have a delayed ring. when i have a call coming the circle lights up white 3 times before a the phone rings...wtf? by the time it starts ringing it rings twice and then it goes to my voice mail by then


ive experienced AWFUL lag trying to play music in tf3d while browsing the web and using a aim application. it lagged to the point that it froze for a while at least almost a minute and a half then continued to lag. how do i get the music on my card into the library on the windows media player? im hoping using that player can eliminate at least some of the lag.


the stock opera is buggy and for some reason when i install the new opera when i click on it the old opera continues to open. and im trying to install flash to view videos on sites like youtube and other sites with youtube like players and the opera browser is giving me a headache.

overall tho i like the phone those big issues are killing it for me. im trying to wait around for any hacks orfixes for these problems...so far its been sort of a lukewarm experience on vzws touch pro

Ok, things that work and don't work:
-With tweaks installed, most lag is gone. Worse remaining lag is opening/closing keyboard.
-Locked GPS, can't wait for the unlock on this
-FM Radio missing (does anyone care?)
-Phone calls inbound take a long time to ring (3 rings before ring is about right)
-Phone calls out seem to take a long time to get out (4-5 seconds)
-No visual voice mail (had long debate w/ VZ corp. rep that this is a natural, tech. evolution rather than upgraded service so should be free - they are supposedly considering making this the new free standard... I'm not holding my breath)
-No included MicroSD (ok, this is a little thing, but when I just got my wife a Storm and it comes with an 8gb and costs less, it was a little annoying).
-Opera browser SUCKS - frankly, I'd rather use my stylus and PIE.
-Teeter is an AWESOME little game, thanks to whomever came up with that and bring on some more like it!

Please stop flaming the VZ TP - especially if you're using Sprint, it's just counterproductive and childish. If you choose to purchase the VZ TP and you're here, you know what you're getting into and you know with ANY VZ WM phone, you will ALLWAYS have to tweak them and work harder to get it just right - that's why this forum exists, as far as I'm concerned. Thanks to everyone who makes this a helpful and productive place to keep informed and updated on PPC tech.

well thanks for putting this post up. glad we have the opportunity to at least say something about the VZW TP. Yes, all of us know it is gimped, but some of us do not have a choice of carriers due to location. So...here are my issues with the vzw tp:

With 3DTF running or not. Other test was having 3-4 programs opening and doing the same thing:
In general, the entire o.s. is laggy, sometimes taking seconds to respond to touch or keypresses.
Entering text on the keyboard is very laggy. Worse than navigating the OS.
Keypress on touch screen laggy. Not as bad as OS, but still there is a delay.
Incoming calls. Lights up, then 2-3 seconds later it starts ringing.
Camera, impossible. 5-7 second delay between pressing button and shutter taking picture.
Opening/closing keyboard turns on camera occasionally <--wtf?
Open and close keyboard, takes about 2-3 seconds to change landscape to portrait mode.
Accelerometer works fine. Seems to respond to motion ok.
Have not tested TV out.
Playing music. Junk as well. Music skips, like blank spots in the music when playing.
Flicking through favorites or pictures. Delayed as well. Not to bad, but there is a delay.
The device will not hard reset like it says in the instruction pdf. I had to go to system/settings/someplace and do a clear memory, enter 1234 and it would hard reset.
Battery is dead in 8 hours flat, with moderate talking and maybe 30 mins of internet use.

There is NO YouTube app. There is NO IM applications either.
There was no included microSD.
There was no included earbuds.
There was no included cheapy case.
The box was a verizon box, not the nice Touch Pro box. or like sprints, theirs was nice.
I even wrote HTC and advised them that VZW is making their products look like crap, and they responded to me that they apologized, but they just sell the product how the CARRIER requests. So it is clearly not thier issue, but damn I'd be pissed at VZW if I were HTC right now......or better yet if I were HTC I would refuse to spec the phone like this to them.

I think thats it, will update if I think of more things (other than bricking this junker lol)
