Yes, I think so! I think I've found the best way of doing this hack without having to break the adapter that comes with the Touch Pro.

I bought an adapter for $4 on EBAY (you can find it for $3) - and it can be used to make this cable! THat way you don't waste the adapter that came with your touch pro!

I just used it to make a new TV Out cable and it worked great using a $1 camcorder cable!

As soon as you've broken pin #4 on that adapter, you're done! You just have to connect the camcorder cable and you're all set to watch video on your TV.

Just to be clear, this is the adapter I used:

Edit on 1/6/2009 - This product has failed to work for 3 other people that I know of, so I can't recommend it anymore. I'm not sure if there's different hardware versions - but I can't guarantee that this would work because I don't believe all 3 did something wrong. Modifying the adapter that comes with the phone has had a higher level of success.

PolloLoco your link has expired.
Will this one work?

http://cgi.ebay.com/3-5mm-USB-Audio-Adapter-for-HTC-Touch-Diamond-PPC-6800_W0QQitemZ120337259791QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_A ccessories?hash=item120337259791&_trksid=p3286.c0. m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240% 3A1318

Should the adapter be EXTusb, regular, or does it not matter?

I tried NTSC and PAL settings and nothing, just in case I tried the cable alone on my camera and it displayed camera images and video fine. What could it be???????????????

Look at post #20 on this thread. I'd actually posted that pinout guide on another thread - and Bayeb decided to borrow it I guess. If your Canon camera cable has different pinouts, you won't get video out. I believe the IPod video out configuration is the right one. It's hard to tell because I used a cheap adapter I picked up at a dollar store. It worked right away. Another thing you could try is connecting red and white into the yellow port of your TV.

Here's a current auction for the same adapter, from the same vendor.

http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-Touch-Diamon...1%7C240%3A1318

I should note that I tried to cut into the seam first like others did for the one that came with the phone. But it was way too thick. So I decided to go the harder route of breaking pin #4. Once that's done (10 minutes tops) you're done so long as you've got the right camcorder or ipod cable.

Another reason you may not want to consider breaking the adapter that came with your phone, is that it's much more expensive to replace. It's called the "Multifunction Audio Cable YC A200" and the cheapest price I've found it for has been $15. So I decided to use my $4 EBAY adapter instead.

Using this little box for the modification is actually pretty cool!

Not only can you enclose the wiring in a nice box, but you can charge while using video out. When I get the fuze I will buy 2 of these.
