Welcome aboard! I think you'll be happy with this phone. I know I am. I, too, had the 6700 and really loved it. But after a while, with the huge extended battery it really became the brick I didn't want. The Touch was a great phone with a fabulous form factor...battery life was good, too (using the Seidio extended battery that fit under the OEM back). BUT...I'm big into substantial emails from the phone and my thumb was getting mighty tired of tapping out long messages, making mistakes that were frustrating me, etc. The Touch is perfect for those who like texting and those who have smaller fingers.
Then came along the Touch PRO...what a beautiful marriage between the Touch and the 6700, as I see it. I was kind of shocked at how small the Pro is. Even the screen size threw me off...it's really the same size as the Touch's. Just the BODY style makes it look smaller. In all, this phone performs beautifully. I haven't had a serious hiccup yet and so far the third-party apps, the hacks and the little tricks have all worked without any issues. I'm one of those who happens to like the TouchFlo 3D interface. While not absolutely necessary, it certainly adds to the cool factor. When you get your phone, the first place you should spend time in here is the "Touch Pro Essentials" sticky at the very top of the forum. Lots of good stuff there and I use most of it. I even just installed htorch, a great program JUST for the TP that works beautifully...for the first time, my phone is an easy-to-use and very bright flashlight/torch! No more having that clunky little light dangling off my key chain! Just stuff like this that my phone works well with keeps me hoppin'!
