EDIT: Removing and replacing battery let me do a 3 finger hard reset. Whew. Used a one day older SPB backup and that worked okay. So not too much loss, but a little disappointed in the SPB product at this point.

spb stopped working for me a LONG time ago when i switched over to n2c's roms. Although some people say it still worked for them, i never tried it again!

Re: A little tough Love about battery issues.

Update on battery life:

Full charge this morning at 6:00am. It is currently 3:00pm and I still show 90%. This is waaaaaaaaaaaay longer than previous. This is about the 5th charge. Assuming I don't experience a quick drop in charge, I'm on par to get 24 hours or more of standby. I've made a single 2 minute call, sent 4 text messages, and have shown off a few features such as web browsing and interface stuff to a few friends. Maybe 2 minutes of web browsing.

Earlier this week I was seeing 12 hours max with zero activity. What the heck is going on? Guess we'll see tonight if the indicator is lying.

1 possibly major variable: For the past 5 days I've been in an area of low signal. Today I'm in an area of mediocre signal... maybe 3 bars max. At home it goes between 0 and 2, rarely 2... I basically can't use it at home unless I'm in my driveway. Same with other providers though.

Update: dropped to 80% after watching TV for a couple minutes at 4:00pm. 10 hours and 80% left, then 10 minutes later down to 70% after a couple calls.

Update: 6:00pm and still have 70% left, that's 12 hours with several more phone calls of about 2-3 minutes each. Not bad.

The original battery in my Touch Pro was defective. I am a Sprint dealer and all 3 Touch Pro devices have defective batteries. I replaced the battery in my Pro and it works and performs perfectly. Because accessories are in very short supply for the Pro finding a battery is difficult. We replaced a Pro battery with a Touch Diamond battery in one of our other Pro's and it immediately cured the battery issue, This is the same exact 1340mah battery that powers the Diamond.

Wait, I'm confused here - So the TP stops charging the battery when under heavy use (GPS navigation in car + calls)? Or when you using it in ANY capacity it stops charging? In other words, you cant use it in car for GPS (plugged into AC adapter) and expect a fully charged battery when done?

Can someone who has used this clear this up for me? This seems like a pretty annoying feature flaw. Whats the deal here? It never charges when "in use" or sometimes (hopefully rarely) when under heavy use and high heat it stop charging?

It is a design flaw but isn't enough to make me give up an otherwise great phone.
This actually happens? Say you have a dead battery and you plug into AC with only 2-3% power you can actually go dead and the wall outlet wont be enough? With my mogul once you get some power into it all is well. This is a bit disturbing, I guess I didn't know this about the TP. Makes me hesitate on my upgrade.

Which issue do you refer to?

I'm hesitant to post about the issue--but on my Touch Pros, it would drain ANY time the radio was active. If I was on the phone OR running GPS (that used an active data connection, like Telenav,) then it drained.

Other's have reported battery-drain while plugged in and doing GPS as well.

An offered solution, (that sometimes works,) is to slide open the keyboard to allow the radio to cool better.

Ridiculous, but apparently it's the only option Sprint Touch Pro owners have.

Wow, the issue is much worse than I thought. I'm a bit surprised.

Is it a misstatement to say that the TP literally will not charge unless the phone is completely inactive? Will a fully charged TP at least maintain its charge plugged into Power when using GPS. Or will it also drain the battery first, attempt to recharge and then overheat?

I'm hoping this guy is onto something and its just an early faulty batch of batteries. Otherwise, this could be a pretty serious design flaw. I wish someone could definitively clear it up. You would think by now it would have been.

Are you saying charging 2-3 times a day or lasting 2-3 days....?

Re: A little tough Love about battery issues.

Is the OEM car charger the same output as the OEM AC charger? If not, are there any higher output OEM mini USB chargers?
