Re: Is it true HTC devices dont charge as fast when using non-oem chargers?

You know, I was thinking the same thing yesterday while I was at work. I work for Sprint and just grabbed any Mini USB Charger (Motorola) and it took a good 4 hours to charge and I don't even think it was full. I got in my car and charged it though and it was full in no time. I say always use the chargers that come with the phone...

Re: Is it true HTC devices dont charge as fast when using non-oem chargers?

I've not had any trouble using my car adapter or my Mogul's adapter to charge my Touch Pro.

That said, I *KNOW* that Motorola Q9* phones can detect the type of adapter they use and will refuse to charge with a non-Motorola adapter, so my guess is those chargers are pinned differently than some which is why you might have trouble with them.

But just a generic cable/adapter should be fine.

Re: Is it true HTC devices dont charge as fast when using non-oem chargers?

Any generic cable for usb charging in your car on DC voltage should work, provided it does not have a regulator inline for a proprietary device. Any proprietary charger at home should be scrutinized as I noted in my earlier post. I have found motrorola and blackberry chargers do not afford the proper amps to charge the device.

I have a few questions about your 2000mAH charger.

Does your 2000mAH charger charge your Touch Pro twice as fast? Also does the phone get really hot when you’re charging it?

Would using this charger long term shorten the life of the battery?

Can you use the phone while it is charging? If so does it heat up and stop charging very quickly?

Thanks for any feedback you can give.
