Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

I drilled a Palm OS device once with 3 tiny little holes. A thought - though it has not happened to me yet.

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

I have witnessed this behavior twice since getting mine at the beginning of February. I no longer charge at night, just put it on the charger in the morning before I go to work. I haven't witnessed the problem since. Granted I have to go out of my way to avoid this problem but like someone else said these are complex devices and not everything can be made perfect.

Believe me, this problem is pale in comparison to what the Samsung i760 users face which is the phone just randomly going in to a deep sleep (no response what so ever) any time the phone goes to sleep. I had to wake my phone up constantly (every 15min) just to make sure it wasn't in a coma. Samsung/VZW, like HTC, isn't willing to admit there is a problem even though there are many threads documenting it as well as multiple tech support calls regarding the issue. In fact, that issue with the i760 got me this sweet TP for $50. The HTC is a godsend because I don't have to worry about it going in to a coma during the day.

And for those of you that are determined to keep using this phone for your alarm in light of this issue, buy a bloody alarm clock! Problem solved...no longer late to work.

It's not just about being an alarm clock--it's about MISSING IMPORTANT CALLS.

What if you get a call about your brother being in a serious accident, but your POS Touch Pro is frozen (same with the Sammy,) and all they get is your voicemail all night, while you sleep peacefully.

I would sue the sh!t out of the company if that happened, and I missed the last chance I had to see my brother before he died. I would devote the remainder of my life to destroying HTC or whoever.

Plus, the fact that the alarm didn't wake me up isn't cool either

For all of you still experiencing this, install the latest G-Alarm and it fixes the bug. No more locks or anything ever.

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

I have this problem also. Having just found this thread I thought I'd try the charge it while awake and recharge it in the morning approach. So - I opened the keyboard (another suggestion) and plugged it in. This time it locked up after 3 minutes! Wasn't hot, but it did a steady minor vibrate thing. Soft reset worked. Anyone know if this is related to the ROM version that I'm using (1.03.651.3 - dated 9/12/0? Just a thought, but has anyone related this behavior to the degree the battery is charged when it is plugged in? Lately (the most freezing happening) my phone has been pretty much fully charged when I plug it in.

Yeah that's when it was happening to me, too. It hasn't happened at all on my latest pro.

It doesn't need an alarm set to lock up - when you install G-Alarm it will detect if your device has the WinMo lock-up bug and will fix it if you say yes to it.

It just comes with G-Alarm :P

I've tested it now for a few months and 0 lock-ups.
