Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

I haven't... I purchased mine through Best Buy, so any time it starts acting up, I just go to get it replaced. Still only on my second despite the issues with this one... Damn the early October manufacture date!

I did a hard reset quite a few weeks ago, and have not been having freezing issues, using the same software, and I have NOT unchecked the today timeout. I'm doing everything the exact same and it's not freezing up any more. The hard reset has cured it... though I don't want to have to do that every few weeks... Hell, I don't even think I've made it 24+ hours without soft resetting it once, I toy with it too much :P The uptime meter never makes it much past 20 hours.

I completely understand where you are coming from though. It's frustrating that the phone doesn't work how its suppose to when it comes to the simplest stuff. Why should we need to tweak and modify a phone right out of theto keep it from locking up!

Hopefully this was just a temporary problem for me.
this is a stupid question, but how do i do a hard reset? I thought that is what the stylus in the hole at the bottom did? I thought the soft reset was to hold the power button down at the top? What did i miss :/

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

I would like to report that my phone has not frozen up since I started reading this thread 2 weeks ago.
1) I turned off the "Turn off device on external power" checkmark
2) now using an old ppc6700 charger instead of the TP rapid charger.

uh, so you basically got around the freezing-while-powered-off problem by keeping it from turning off? That's not much of a solution...

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

Well I don't see anything wrong w/ it being on while it's plugged in, so it is better than nothing if it works.

Wow, sure doesn't solve the problem. There is a much bigger issue here, and if everyone does what you two did, then HTC will never fix it. My Pro only froze when I ran the battery-monitoring utility. Otherwise, it was fine. My Vogue is fine too.

I think there are hardware differences/problems that are causing this.

My friend still has my old Apache and it doesn't ever freeze. Alarms every morning.

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

I took mine to Sprint and they said I am the first person they have ever heard of with this problem. I told them I did a hard reset to see if that would fix it, but sure enough it froze.

Sooo they said a tech would look at it, come back in an hour. I came back and they said the tech did a hard reset and it will fix the problem.

Since Saturday I have had 2 lockups (with all default settings, nothing unchecked). I am taking it in again tomorrow to get a new one ordered... they said before that they'd get me a brand new one if I had anymore problems so at least I will get a more recent build date *knocks on wood*

I hope they have the heat/charge issue figured out with the newer builds!
