Yes, hopefully the ROM chefs can do HTC's job for them...

Anyways, don't get your hopes up, because the only reason this problem got solved for the Vogue, was because they got a whole new OS, 6.0 -> 6.1, which magically fixed it.

I don't see the TP getting WM6.5 or WM7...

So good luck to the chefs/tweakers/dedicated people

When I spoke with Sprint a couple weeks ago, they said 100% for sure the Touch Pro will get the 6.5 update.

What makes you think it won't?

I have had the same problem and I had it with the Touch for Sprint too. The only way to change it is to change the settings for the backlight. I changed mine so that my phone NEVER goes to sleep on external power. With my Touch I just never put it on sleep mode because I was tired of missing texts and calls. You will never be able to see the messages or calls or anything else that happens while the phone is blacked out.

I think this might be a HTC problem...

happened 2x last nite alone! argh. missed 2 classes cause of it. I need to stop by goodwill and pick up a cheap alarm clock.

the pro will get wm 6.5 and 7.

it will be easily ported.

The STOCK Sprint HTC Touch had this same exact problem. Once the ROM was upgrade to WM6.1, with the new radio, the problem was alleviated.

My problems went away, once I tried the very first unofficial WM6.1 ROM.

I meant that I didn't think Sprint would give out an official WM6.5 update.

To get 6.5 on the Pro, wouldn't we need it to be released for SOME variation of the Pro, so that we have compatible drivers? I thought that was the main issue, since each device is slightly different.

Good to hear that people are willing to port it though

If 6.5 comes out soon, or 7, it might divert my attention from the Pre, which, as it stands, has mine, undivided.

Yea-seriously. I had half a thought to follow ur footsteps and go back to my vogue..

Took it in today, had the rainbow effect as well so figured I needed to have a friendly chat with tech support, turns out, they've never even heard of this problem yet and told me they put it on "their" forum. kinda made me smile a bit, even though they didn't really seem like they believed me.

Ugh, now I'm in this boat. I've had my Pro since it came out, and this never happened. Last week, without making a change in over a month, this thing freezes overnight for the first time. Then two days later. Then three days later...bringing me to this morning. I'm going to change the settings so it never goes into sleep mode and hope that will alleviate it.
