well a brave soul out there could flash a modded diamond rom with radio files onto their TP. if the radio works then it is just a matter of locating the dependant files and porting them to the TP. If this doesnt work (still unable to lock to a station) then it is likely there is missing hardware or some other lock.

Juggalo_X has already flashed diamond roms onto his touch pro. he hasnt reported that it works though, so its a safe bet that it doesnt.

Someone HAS called HTC about this...I saw it in some other thread about Radio. The HTC specialist said there was no FM radio installed in the device itself because it was not requested by Sprint.

However, this is exactly what you would expect them to say. They aren't gonna tell you if its there...or if it can be enabled.

Now maybe if someone was friends with an HTC rep and knew them personally, the answer might be different.

I suspect the same as many others in here. Its there, its just not enabled...either by software or hardware. I hope its software, but fear and suspect its hardware. If its hardware...then screw it...its not worth it to me to make some kind of physical modification to the phone just to get FM radio. I can use Kinoma. If its software...then....game on! (once some genious here finds out how to do it)

It is kinda like the old GPS issue on the HTC Mogul.. It was never enabled until Radio release 3.35 or something... So I believe down the road there will be a Radio Update from Sprint that enables the FM radio, if it is there of course... Until then, we will have a XDA/PPC Geeks work around that enables it, with the obvious caveat that the hardware is there and that the only restriction on it is a software lock, and not a hardware lock... Patience is a virtue.. It will work out...

the diamond rom boots fine, sans HW keyboard, and the center button will be dead (different hardware map) and the fm radio does not work. which means 100% its not a software issue. although it has the same bluetooth chipset as the diamond so the software should work 100% it does not. its either physically disconnected. or the SPL locks it out. the radio rom, if you going to ask next has nothing to do with it as i have the sprint touch pro radio rom on my diamond right now and the fm radio works.

well spl gurus like no2chem or cmonex would be able to patch that. but it could be physically disconnected in th BT chipset.
