I agree with Cornelious... If somebody has the FM radio working on the TP, PPC or XDA would be all over it.. I bet it is something in the lieu of the Diamond fix for the FM radio.. I hope I am wrong, but I sadly believe I am right..

In the mean time, you could use the link below to stream FM radio over your TP... This is just a temporary fix until the real FM radio on the TP is activated... I am sorry if you have seen this before.. I posted this in another thread but that was closed, so I am posting it here for more people to see...

Has this been verified to work for the touch pro?

yes the title says that for developers though.... this has to be built into the rom through a kitchen and not just on your phone though.

we've had this cooked into kitchens with no clear gains so far we have the program running but zero sound.

What are the possible solutions then Cornelious?

Re: Lets talk about this radio ....

the status is pretty much the same from what I have read as the last time no2chem posted. the hardware exists but it is physically disabled somehow. with the diamond htc just didn't include the support for it so a few drivers and bada bing you got radio. but with the TP they actually took measures to stop the radio as an active thought rather than an afterthought. this poses an interesting point. much like the mogul, a new SPL will most likely have to be made/come out to enable this functionality. I am a programmer in the PC realm, but honestly moving into the mobile realm is a whole new challenge. Not to mention being 23 assembler is not the most commonly taught course in college anymore.

If I could be pointed in the right direction I might be able to work with someone, but I wouldn't hold my breath especially since talking to hardware can be much more complicated than. I am a mere power user in this realm, Alas, unlike when something happens on my computer when there is something wrong with my phone, I am not able to just write a program to fix it.

This sounds like a load of bull.
lots and lots of people are working on this.

The only way he would have got it working is if he tore his apart and found what to jump, or soldier, or what not.
He wouldn't be the only smart person to be able to do it software wise, so, this is probably a dump truck load of bull.

I somehow have a feeling that making this work is going to be something as stupid as opening your TP and penciling in the connection with a #2 pencil.

well, my running theory is if this FM radio is not hardware defeated the via the antenna, problem may be in bthci.dll as this handles many of the calls by fmradio or in the tiint_x_x_xx.bts chip config files.

Based on the TI docs the BFR6350 is I2S bus for digital audio and I2C for control. There is an analog output on this chip but from a design stand point it would not be practical to use.

FM radio is using the fminit_x.bts files, fm_on_X_X.bts, fms.dll, and fms_api.dll that all seem to be common and known good based on the diamond. The HTC test file I attached includes FMSApp.exe, and copies of the previously mentioned files from htc. This is a test of the FM system. It looks like everything is functional but it cannot detect a signal (RSSI).

Hope this helps someone out there
