Well, the BT chip uses matching network to couple the antenna to actual chip. If HTC intended this portion to never be used they could easily not place the componets making up this network.
RSSI is normally generated from the FM Demod at the audio demodulation stage so the lack of RSSI and the fact I cannot get the chip to lock to a station make me think either a software block or missing antenna network. Will be interesting....I'm definately hoping S/W. |

Yeah, it is a network of passive componets, resistors, capacitors, possibly inductors used to provide filtering, isolation, and impedance matching between the antenna and the RF circuitry of the chip.
