Lets talk about this radio ....

Well, a lot of times any of the private developers (people around ppcgeeks/xda) get something good going, the companies spend more time trying to lock those things back out then they do trying to improve and develop the phone.
That is something that irritates me.

In my personal thought, the TP is probably the same thing as the diamond with a few more electronics.
You can probably use diamond parts on a TP if things go wrong.

I would also think it would cost a lot of extra money in manufacturing of the device to "leave out" or "disable" something like the radio. When it can quickly be turned off with something like a kernal command, where the device doesn't recognize that its there.
The only physical thing i can think they would do is just leave out a solder in the process.

ok fellow members someone on xda claims to have the fm radio working on his att fuze which is the variant to the touch pro sprint
with some gsm cab he used
hope this is a hint for us to finaly get it to work with the touch pro?

AT&T = GSM

Sprint = CDMA

Not the same. Different radios.

and yeah, different radios, but that has nothing to do with the FM radio.

True, then maybe we need to test a CDMA phone with a radio from ATT using his exact setup...hopefully not bricking the CDMA phone.

the fuze does have the fm radio working on there.... i got my wife an unlocked fuze with a t-mobile simcard in there.. also has the officail htc touch pro rom on there and that comes the radio software already installed and radio works just fine.

hmmm....interesting. Does anyone know if the Fuze is identical to the TP (sprint) hardware wise? If so would this mean that we can narrow it down to the radio being disabled because of software?
