I searched for a little while and couldn't find any reliable way to do it from code without flipping into flight mode. Anyone have any ideas on how to kill data connection?

I don't know .net, so I can't help you with the coding there (might check with no2chem). I do know that you can do it in Mortscript with the Disconnect command. However, I figure you probably don't want to use an external app.
