auto correct enhancement kills SYM button on keyboard??

Am I the only one that loses functionality of the SYM button on the keyboard after doing this modification?

use this and then go into settings input and enable auto correction and perform a soft reset

For those that hate the annoying/ laggy stock T9 word correction. You can revert to using the one most of us are familiar with from the Mogul etc.
