Well...I've been with Sprint for many, many years. Always have had the ups and downs with them. The ups are usually pretty neat, however. The last "up" I had was the fact that Sprint actually paid ME $100 to take the Touch (via the upgrade rebate).
After working it out with my rep in Account Services, I got more minutes tacked onto my plan, my plan monthly rate dropped a few bucks and a couple of other little things added on for good measure. But the best part is I got the Touch Pro for $99. Of course, I was actually able to sell my Touch and all of its accessories for $150 so, essentially, I got paid another $50 to make the upgrade to the Touch Pro. ![]() So far, I'm LOVING this phone! Can't believe how MUCH I missed having a physical keyboard!

Re: Phone prices and deals
I was out of contract as of the end of October. It seems that that is an awesome time to expire because I always get the newest phones when they release before Christmas. Anyway, I called up retentions directly. I reached a rep that was very helpful. I told her my friend just left Sprint for Tmobile's G1 (true) and that I was blown away by his deal. I told her I wanted the Touch Pro and wanted to stay w/ Sprint but I couldn't justify paying $600 for the phone when my friend got his G1 for $180. She said she couldn't do anything about reducing the cost of the phone below the already discounted $299 that sprint is offering. She said she could give me a $100 dollar credit for each of my 2 lines toward my next bill if I sign the 2 year agreement. I have no need to upgrade my second line's phone so I jumped on that.
$399 on my credit card -$100 mail in rebate -$200 credit ----------- Touch Pro for $99 I have been with sprint for over 11 years so maybe that was a factor. She even called my local sprint store to make sure they held a TP for me in stock. I picked it up that night. |

Re: Phone prices and deals
$200 before rebate... $100 in 8 - 10 weeks... I'd rather not wait for that long, but figured if I can get a touch pro for $200, that's a hell of a deal. $100 in 10 weeks will be like free money!! At least, that's how I'm looking at it.

I was offered the same deal additional $75.00 on top of the $75.00 that I was eligible for. What I did was buy it from BB for $460.00 (plus 20% off which is now expired), once I activated the phone I emailed sprint and they issued me the $75 credit. I suprised they still gave it to me even though I didnt purchase the phone through them. |

Re: Phone prices and deals
uhm i told them that i was unsatisfied with the mogul and the only reason i had one was because they ran out of 6700's when my last one broke (true) i told them it shouldnt have been released with the lack of program memory that it has (true) and thatit freezes so much i have to reset multiple times daily (true) and that i couldnt take a touch or touch diamond because i rely on a hardware keyboard (true [big fingers lol]) then i demanded that i have my device replaced or i would go to verizon because i was tired of being jerked around by sprint (half-true)

Re: Phone prices and deals
1st 6700 - dropped
2nd 6700 - refurb replacement, earpiece stopped working 3rd 6700 - refurb replacement, froze at load screen regardless of hard reset 4th 6700 - actually caught fire when i put in battery and powered up first time TOUCH PRO - FREE due to constant replacement issues. Phone price billed to my account, then credit from sprint for full price for my troubles. TP will be here in 3 days... |
