Re: Touch Pro Screen Burn In

Um, there is such a thing as LCD Ghosting and all those that say different are wrong.

However it's not called burn-in, but rather image persistence. It occurs when you leave a still image on a LCD for an extended period of time. There's a potential fix for this:

1) Create an all-white picture
2) Turn down your brightness on your device (must be on, but just slightly)
3) Leave the all-white picture displayed until the persistence is gone (generally a few hours I believe).

This is an uncommon issue and is the reason why you should never leave a still image on your screen for an extended period of time

Re: Touch Pro Screen Burn In

honestly I am so anal about turning off the screen the second I am done using it I doubt that could ever happen to my phone. I remember with the first gen lcd tvs they used to sell a dvd that flashed each pixel like crazy for a while that fixed the image persistence. I wonder if finding a copy of that and running it in full screen for a while would do the same.

I've seen many LCD's with burn in.

No screen problems here.
Mine is usually off if i can muster it.
But s2u2 is locking apps off when the phone goes into standby now, so i might have internet connection screen burned in if i keep it up.
There is nothing to burn. In CRTs, it was the phospher that was burning int he image. There is no heat, no electron beam, nothing to cause damage/burning. It is just image persistence, and it will go away. Kind of like when someone takes a picture of you with a bright flash and you can still see the flash for a little while when you blink. Same idea.

My hint is to slide out keyboard (display will rotate home screen of HTC touch flo) and to put device to sleep (and probably close slider back to normal, it will keep sleeping). Try to have it like this one night and than turn display on. You will notice that icons and mainly white text of phone or action button at botton left (upper left) will be "burned-in".

Imho the burning process (or persistent image process creation) is also active if device is in sleep mode. Probably some bug in drivers, or graphics card? Do someone else have noticed this behavior?

Also when you immediately restart phone, you can see that persistent image in boot screen. So it is not sw problem, but hw, like written in previous posts.

PS: I dont see the bug, I see just telephone with some OS which has more bugs than hardware problems
