Mine doesn't work either. Doesn't really matter though. I usually leave it face up and turn the volume down if I need to. Odd that so many don't work though.

Hey, I'm just trying this with my diamond and it is working on a flat clear glass table. So the hand thing might not be relevant.

are you trying it with the phone starting upside down?....bc you have to have the phone screen up and then turn it upside down for this to work from what i can tell

check the registry to make sure its enabled

Enable/Disable mute call when phone is flipped over - [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE] Set FaceDownMuteRing=1 to enable, or =0 to disable. Source
