Re: Opening a new account and cancelling within 30 days
Quote:
I did this when the mogul came out. But I convinced the Store manager that I would only sign up for the new line if they gave it to me for the price after rebate because, "I hate rebates and I never get my money. Also that the sprint site says $199, and I mad him believe I didn't read the fine print of $299-$100 rebate)". The truth was that I knew someone that worked at the store and that month sprint was pushing hard for new accounts so I knew he would take the bait. There was also some silly NFL promotion where the first month of service was free. So I swapped my 6700 with my 6800 on my original account. I then call and canceled my 2nd line (new line with the 6800 purchase). Sprint CS asked if I returned the phone, I said yes. Then my next month bill came in and I had a $45 credit from the first free month covering my first line because the 2nd didn't exist. At that point I figured I had some luck so I sent in the $100 rebate. Sure enough 2 months later I got a $100 check So $199 + Tax -$45 service credit - $100 rebate. I had done this without signing a 2 year contact and I had only been 1 year into my original contact. Dishonest maybe.... creative yes.. BTW if you try this it is highly YMMV as its not this easy anymore |

like stated before, if you call to cancel the phone on the phone they'll make go either return it to the store or pay full price for the phone. Might check on ebay for it probably cheaper

WOW indeed...
Guess since the internet hides a person's identity, there is no need for honor or anything that remotely resembles ethics. MBK ![]() |

If you know someone who works at Sprint, get them to sign you up for the advantage plan. No contracts, therefore no ETF's.

Re: Opening a new account and cancelling within 30 days
well good but its not worth it to most to risk being booted of the network or being sued/prosecuted to save $100 on a phone or go through all that effort with insurance and cloning ESNs
Furthermore, dont share illegal theories here- i doubt the mods or site owners would condone that Last edited by SprintTouch08; 11-02-2008 at 09:13 PM. |
