Re: Reminders Notification - Losing Display on Screen

Well I feel really dumb, but I found out later that the reason I wasn't getting popup alerts was simply because in Settings under Alarms and Notifications, the box for popup alerts under Reminders wasn't checked. Duh, so simple.

So I installed G-alarm for nothing. But I'm happy cz I'm getting the popup notifications now.

Now I'm wondering whether the windows bug fix in G-alarm did anything helpful or if I'll wish later I hadn't checked it...I'm wary of applying fixes when I don't seem to have a problem, although all the G programs seem to be very well-written and maintained, so I'm sure it didn't hurt anything...does anyone know what exactly it does?

If you're referring to the program - G-Alarm is an alarm application...
If you're referring to the alarm fix - G-Alarm sets up the phone to wake up at 11:59p through 12:00a. That's because WM builds all events at Midnight, however, the phone is probably asleep for most people, and therefore, alarms/events/notifications aren't built. This is why people would miss their wake up alarms/notifications in the morning, but any other alarms/notifications later in the day would work.

No, I meant the bug fix. So no harm done then? Will it affect anything if I'm not using G-alarm?

From what I understand it's still an issue tho. I've checked that box plenty of times and it'll work for a while (as in maybe a day or 2) then eventually it unchecks itself. If it stays working for you that's great tho

Nope, no harm at all... I believe you can uninstall G-Alarm and it will leave the fix intact, but I haven't uninstalled it, so not sure on that.

I was thinking about uninstalling G-Alarm to see if the fix still sticks... I haven't tried it yet... if anyone has, please post your results.

I don't really know much about registry tweaking...but could you CHECK the box and then somehow edit the registry to grey out the box...I mean, not sure if WM would know to override itself. But this is really making me upset, I hate how it dissapears all of a sudden.

Re: Reminders Notification - Losing Display on Screen

Okay, I'm with you guys now. Now that I've CHECKED the box, occasionally the popup notifications will stop coming up and I'll check and the box is unchecked and I have to check it again.

So you guy's're saying that if I install G-alarm that should fix this? I uninstalled it, but I'll install it again if it keeps my box checked.

PS. That's what she said

Galarm does dont fix the automatic & random unchecking of display message for alarms and notifications, which is an extremely annoying bug.
