Re: Update: Hard-reset your Pro when you get it (conspiracy?)
I have tried EVER single one of these methods, plus more, and I CAN'T get my phone to hard reset. What's the deal?

Correction. I can get the "1234 clear storage" method to work. Is that just as good as the others? Because I seriously can not make the other methods work.

Re: Update: Hard-reset your Pro when you get it (conspiracy?)
The issue is the following:
Most people turn on their devices w/o first getting them activated by the carrier. When you first power on the device and let it go throught the installation process it also does the handsfree activation automatically. If it has not been activated by the Carrier first (Sprint, Verizon, etc.) then this process gets screwed up. Then you have to do what is listed above. My recommended way of hard resetting your device is: 1. Dial ##786# 2. Select Reset on Menu at bottom of screen. 3. Enter MSL/LockCode (Get from Carrier) 4. OK This resets the Hands Free Activation as well so that when it downloads all the applications it also activates it's self Automatically. Hope this helps. |

I work for Sprint...so if you need your MSL send me a PM with your cell phone number. Only if you have a Sprint Phone.

Also, is there any difference between a reset using clear storage vs. MSL vs. using the power button/volume/enter key? TIA! |

Or you can call *2. They will give it to you. What's interesting, is that years ago, they WOULD NOT give you your MSL... as if it was some top-secret code that was dangerous to know... I had always been able to convince the rep to give it to me... Now, it's no big deal, apparently. Also, there's really no reason to need the MSL to hard-reset/activate. Upon a normal hard-reset, it does the handset activation. If you don't already know your MSL, chances are, you probably shouldn't be tinkering in there--I would just do the 1234 clear storage way... the hardware buttons are the same exact reset. |

Re: Update: Hard-reset your Pro when you get it (conspiracy?)
If you want to find the MSL yourself just search this forum for baffles MSL grabber. Its a cab file you put on your phone and pulls your MSL up and displays it so you can write it down. Its also on the Sprint Touch Pro on Verizon hack post.

Re: Update: Hard-reset your Pro when you get it (conspiracy?)
I'm not so much worried about finding my MSL; I know how to do that. I'm just wondering whether or not the MSL is unique to each specific phone, or if it will be the same for any unit I have as long as it's on my phone number.
