Re: Gmail IMAP Problem...Can't Send Emails
I had the same problem a few weeks ago... had to delete and reinstall.
At thesame time, I started getting an error with services.exe every time I reset my phone.. not sure if they're related, but a hard reset cured the problem... |

Re: Gmail IMAP Problem...Can't Send Emails
Well I just went for the delete the account and set it up again. I'm not going to do a hard reset so I can send emails. I would send them from a different account before I hard reset

Re: Gmail IMAP Problem...Can't Send Emails
LOL.. I totally agree. the only reason I hard reset was because I had to take my phone into the service center anyway..

Re: Gmail IMAP Problem...Can't Send Emails
No need for a hard reset, it's some certificate issue or something on Google's side which causes it to stop working. Pretty annoying, but if you use a third party program like SEVEN you can circumvent this issue (but it will still pop up every now and then)

Re: Gmail IMAP Problem...Can't Send Emails
I had the same problem. Google search for the problem yielded me this result:
http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/...obile-smtp-fix Basically, a registry hack (from XDA-Developers) to circumvent the problem. The link also contains .CAB files to do the registry hack if you are unclear about it. Here's a direct link to the .CAB file: http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/TnMfix_PPC.CAB I tried it on my HTC Touch PRO, and now I can send e-mails from my gmail account. (May need soft reset after applying registry fix before it works.) Update: Well... the Gmail problem happened again despite the registry hack. I might have to try MaryGladys' trick.

Re: Gmail IMAP Problem...Can't Send Emails
I had this same problem and I removed my GMail account and then soft reset. Then, go to gmail.com on your Touch Pro through PIE or Opera, and if you auto-login, sign out and resign in. Purposely mistype your password to the point you get one of those visual confirmation codes you have to type in. Type in the code and your password. Soft reset again and reset up your email. It is a known bug with Google. I can't find the article but in a Google newsgroup, it was posted. Worked for me.
This has also happened to me via Outlook on my laptop as well.
