Ditto! They seem to be a mix of physical button and capacitive touch sensor, and it just leaves a lot to be desired. (1) If wearing glove, or through your pocket, one direction works, and the other doesn't. (2) It's very hard to hit a direction key without triggering the zoom-dial feature (e.g. in Pocket Word or Google Maps).

I hope more pictures begin surfacing. I want to see whether or not I should hope to trade my Sprint Pro for someone's VZW Pro and swap ESN's

What is it that you dont like about the Sprint Pro Sauman? I just bought one yesterday and I have to say im satisfied with it this far....

Do you prefer the VZW keyboard over the Sprint one?

Actually I don't like the keyboard layout of the VZW version from what I've seen.

I like the VZW version because of the colored send/end keys and the more sqare shape, as well as the non-chrome sidings and [possibly] diamond battery cover.

I for one am very dissatisfied with Verizonwireless. I've been drooling over this incredible phone for months now. I've read all the articles, I looked at all of the leaked pictures, I watched tons of videos about it on youtube, I waiting for verizon to finally release it and now what am I faced with? A keyboard redesigned by an idiot.. I mean, seriously, an arrow key betwen the M and N key??? Are you kidding me?? Now I learn of their plans to require a $30 data plan with all new smartphones. So now, I get a lesser phone and I get to pay an additional $360/year for a data plan I don't even want? Sorry, but that's the deal breaker there. I refuse. I absolutely refuse to play this game with verizon. I so wanted this phone, but it's not worth it. Not only am I not going to buy one of their smartphones now, I'll probably just stay with my Samsung U740 until it dies. It sounds like they're doing everything they can to lose business. The funny thing is, Verizonwireless actually left me an automated message on my answering machine the other day reminding me that I'm eligible for an upgrade, as long as I renew my contract with them. Why, I ask? Why??

I don't know.... I'd venture to guess that the vast majority of PPC users have a data plan on their account. The situations under which one would want a smartphone without a data plan seem few and far between to me. I don't think VZW is really flirting with danger on this one...

As for VZW requiring you to renew your contract in order to get your upgrade discount.... um.... that's pretty standard..... why the hell else would they give you a discount?

I believe he's trying to say why should he renew if they're not offering the phone he wants, or simply the lack of vzw pda's

I was merely stating that it was ironic that they contacted me urging me to upgrade after so many boneheaded moves. I realize an upgrade discount is standard... just stating the ironic portion.
