Re: GPS Lag with Sprint Nav on Touch Pro

I loaded Iguidance 4.0 on my TP as well. The lag was terrible. I think I might have to use GPSgate with it like on the Mogul. Crap....was really hoping Sprint Nav would work well.

Re: GPS Lag with Sprint Nav on Touch Pro

someone with knowledge of qpst can possibly try to change gspone to gps standalone only so it doesn't use cell towers. perhaps that's a temporary fix for the lag?

Re: GPS Lag with Sprint Nav on Touch Pro

I can't get gps/sprint nav to even work most of the time. I get "weak gps" notice and that is all. I live in a large city with EVDO and the latest rom update from sprint. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Verify with Google Maps and or Live Search. If those both get good GPS then it's your install of Sprint Nav. If they both get bad GPS, then it's either the hardware in your phone, software in your phone or you just have bad signal in your area. Google maps will show you how many satalites you are connected to. The more the better.

No need to get that tool, someone else made a cab and posted in later in the thread that will make the changes for you that are listed in that first post of the thead you linked to. Here is the link:

I installed it and GPS definitely seems more responsive/acccurate in my limited testing. Will try it out some more later today.

Re: GPS Lag with Sprint Nav on Touch Pro

So far I've tried 2 gps apps - and used the side by side on two TPs

Graming XT mobile
igo 8

Garmin 3-4 sec. lag on distance
Igo 8 0.5 sec

seems that igo 8 is the way to go until some patch/fix is made

Yep, just checked my buddies IGO8 (OnCourse Navigator with HTCPT and it is pretty damm good. The voice navigation part is right on compared to Garmin XT. Video lags just a bit. I may have been awestucked though looking at the 3D buildings.
