Re: Please post Best Buy or Sprint, and if Heat/Buzz issues
The "issue" is many of the TP's, mine included, reach this level very easily (e.g. 45 min call while charging), so it's hard to make the occasional long conference call for work (or road trip w/GPS&data+audio).

Build date 10/14/2008.

I got the phone on 10/27 and it's had several chances to get low and recharge to full, so the battery is not improving with usage. I have until 11/25-11/26 to do an exchange. I like the phone but that battery usage for doing nothing is kinda abysmal. Similar to Sprint, all nearby Best Buys are sold out, thus, I can't exchange yet. Not a WinMo n00b, I've had a PPC6700 and its original battery from 2006 (understandably, it doesn't hold a charge like the newer swap batter of similar size) still last all day. While I know the Touch Pro is a more powerful phone than the PPC6700, that battery/overheating is disappointing. I may end up just returning the Touch Pro and reactivating my PPC6700. Sprint never renewed my contract when I got the phone, even though they gave me the 2yr renewal discount, thus, no 'locked-in' loss. Sprint also still shows I'm eligible for $150 toward a new phone with 2yr contract. |

Re: Touch Pro Build Date
that's great to hear....my speaker on my touch pro sounds fine when playing music but on calls it's hard to hear...how does your earpiece sound during calls?

Re: Touch Pro Build Date
Mine is build 10/20/08. This phone bites. Speaker is very tinny, sounds like an old crappy transistor radio with bad reception inside a tin bucket. Battery life is truly terrible. I don't think this is a function of the build though, I've seen lots of people on here proclaiming how great their battery life is with the touch pro because it lasts one day before they have to charge it. Huh?? One day are you kidding me? And that's the holy grail that the other bad-build-date owners are hoping to get??? That's absurd.
As it is mine can't make through an 8 hour work day. By 2pm it's crapped out. That's just not acceptable. So now I have to go do registry hacks to try and get another hour or two? Which brings me to the last part. Another big part of the problem is Windows Mobile. It's clear that sometime during the transition from NT to XP to Vista Microsoft stopped communicating internally in any sensible manner. This carried over to WM also, as it is such a hodge podge mess. |

Re: Touch Pro Build Date
10/26/08 for mine. Everything seems in working order, no crashes or hangups, speaker seems fine. Only thing I have noticed is the slightly raised D-pad near the Home button, it's a little noticeable from an angle that its higher raised than the "back" button side of the d pad which is barely raised at all.
