Bad Earpeice buzz even after Audio Para update

I asked the guy at my Best Buy if I could check before I actually did the exchange and switched my number over to the new phone. He opened the box, took out the phone and I took the battery from my 1st TP and powered it up. Then once the initial setup completed, I checked the build date and found it was an Oct 19 build and decided to go ahead with the exchange. Once the new phone was activated, I had him call my phone while I was still in the store to test it out. I also had him listen to the 1st TP and then to the 2nd so he could see the drastic difference. On the new one, make sure you peel back the plastic screen protector it ships with just enough to uncover the earpiece so you get an accurate assessment. Then I tried the speakerphone and noticed improvement there as well.

Has anyone tried a hard reset first? I have a 10/14 model and needed to hard reset on day 3 of mine and I have had crystal clear calls ever since.

I just drove 45 minutes to the Savannah, GA store today to replace my TP because of the speaker sounding like crap and the only one they had would not turn on at all. No matter what we tried. So I had to drive 45 minutes farther to make it to Bluffton, SC which had 3. The BB rep slid out the keyboard to type in my phone number and noticed that there were two 8's on the numpad line. It went 12345 8 7890...I couldn't believe it. It still wrote 6 when pressed, but I know it would have bothered me everytime I looked at it so I exchanged it twice today. But it is working fine now...and the weird thing is that its build date is also 10/13, which was the same day as my last one and several other people on here who had speaker issues.

As a sidenote, my picture mail is not working right. It will say sending message forever, but never go through. Hopefully it works soon, I don't want to call tech support.

I got my phone last Monday (10/27) and I have the muffled sounding ear piece. The built date on it is 10/15. I already did a hard reset.

If the other end is very good quality then the TP just sounds a bit bad but if the other end phone had bad quality and adding that to the bad TP sound results in a terrible sound quality that I can hardly understand.

I called BB just now and they do not have any and do not expect a new shipment until Thursday. I guess I'll wait to exchange and it should be a built after 10/16.

Exchanged mine yesterday morning. Build date 10/15. Sounds great, and no more front panel falling off!

Mine is 10/14, only have holes on half of the mesh in the earpiece. Earpiece and speakerphone sound fine to me, when dialing *2, I get a little bit of buzzing on higher volumes with audiopara_lite, but it is still perfectly understandable.

im in the same boat. i bought mine from best buy a week early and im having audio issues. im waiting on best buy to get them back in stock so i can exchange it for a new one..

Exchanged out 2 TPs that I had purchased on 10/24 with a build date of 10/14. The 2 new ones have a build date of 10/12 and sound fine. However, 1 of the TPs has a problem with the power button squeaking and sticking. I will have to go back and exchange it again tomorrow =/

I exchanged mine on Saturday - to 10/13/08 from 10/14/08
problems that are gone with new replacement
-touch screen much more sensitive
-edges of screen responding now
-great sound from ear piece and speaker ( laud and clear )
-battery cover doesn't crack any more

Still have to test GPS

exchange you TP if you have above problems with yours since it looks like some TPs have bad build
