he told you it is a common verizon issue and that it is probably your ics program that was his 2 cents the lol was a joke i don't understand how you overeacted and took the lol out of context he also is right as it is a verizon issue if you didn't fix it what rom are you on i thought stock verizon rom didn't have ics i posted a cab with it if it doesn't if it does install the one i posted over it then run the fix cab.AND FOR THE LAST TIME HE WASN'T LAUGHING AT YOUR PROBLEM HE WAS MAKING LIGHT OF IT. IT WASN'T MALICE IT WASN'T RUDE OR OUT LINE THEIR IS NO REASON FOR YOU TWO TO FIGHT ITS WASTING SPACE PEOPLE HAVE TO READ THROUGH.
And he said he was trying to help you respond with what a loser thats real productive your a loser obviously you have developed a complex because verizon screws their customers its a known fact this is a community that lol should have been taken as a inside joke and maybe you could have responded with ya i know and thanks ill look into the ics or i already knew that why you overeacted i don't know but your still doing it.
btw lol stands for laugh out loud not i am making fun of you like most verizon people can't get it to work friendly laugh not rofl that i could see being taken the wrong way. I really hope a mod talks to you cause your attitude stinks.

I have an old 6800 from Alltel which has internet sharing on it. Can I copy that program out of that phone and put it on my new 6900 with Verizon?

You're in the wrong place! The 6900 is the Touch (or Vogue), this is the Touch PRO forum.

what a waste of a thought, the few kb's of data use to create this useless post, and an even BIGGER waste because you didnt tell anyone what you did to fix your problem so others can learn from it

You, being a VIP, out of all people should know the regulations. Calm down stop the name calling. Read the user agreement.

The info on that page did not work for me (all my EPST settings where already set the way that post sets them at as I had done them myself & it did not work consistently)

I do have it working perfectly now using WMwifirouter (the paid for version). I will gladly help out anybody who PM's me.

Why only people who PM you? Why not post it here where everyone has been coming for help?

Seems this thread has become a pissing contest.

Im sorry to hear that John but glad to hear you got it figured out. I am confident that should I come by somebody that has the same issue I will be able to get the two of you together and solve the problem. Good work. +1

Its noted that this thead is full of, for lack of a better word, crap so if its off topic and/or you have nothing more than non-constructive critisism then try moving to the next tread or better yet another site.

Thanks all

Re: Tethering with WMWifiRouter .91

ics fix with the cab didn't work on my Sprint WinMo 6.1 TP... messed with it for a long time... then realized that the ics hack changed my ics connection screen (removed the bottom Sprint/Phone as Modem menu), which i didn't like, so i uninstalled it and then tried again: 1) turn on wifi, 2) run wmwifi.... and it works.

also, i have the ip block (options > ip block) set to 192.168.0.x. Hope this is helpfull to someone.

(could the mods delete all the garbage from the thread please?)

That is a type of encryption, I myself have it set as none, Not likely anyone will be hopping on my connection without asking.

First install this ICS then install wmwifirouter

ICS will create an icon in programs, and it also replaces the current ICS installed just delete the extra icon and you are good to go

both which can be found here

do i download it to my phone or my pc?

Excuse me for being the village idiot, but are there instructions on using wmwifi router somewhere? My computer isn't picking up the signal. The phone just says "Connected. WLAN is ON! Waiting for ICS.."

I'm sorry, I have no answer to your issue, but I did have a similar experience. In my case, computers like a laptop or netbook could connect through my phone with wmwifirouter running, but my friend's ipod touch wouldn't connect.

Eventually what I ended up doing was downloading the HTC wifi router. That worked on the ipod and everything else.

Re: Tethering with WMWifiRouter .91

This is because the .91b version doesn't have adequate control over the wifi chipset. If you read up on the newest version of wmwifirouter (not free) it explains why it drops out or is not detected by a lot of devices. I got the full version and even though it is not free, it is leaps and bounds better than the .91b free version that we all try. Free is nice, but almost all the problems are solved in the paid version. The only thing they didn't address was resetting the tcp/ip stuff back to default when you quit the program, which makes your EVDO not work correctly until it is reset.

I have used xda wifisharing with sprint touch pro 2 for a long time and it has worked well with all hardware up til now. I purchased an android froyo (2.2) tablet. I have edited the tablet to pick up on adhoc wifi networks but it wont connect to xda wifisharing wep connection. Ive been told it only likes open wifi protocol. Can anyone suggest a wifisharing program for windows mobile 6.5 that works and creates an open wifi sharing connection ? I tried the free version of wmwifirouter .91 which seems to create open connection but couldnt see it on tablet or laptop. From what I read previously in this blog, this free version doesnt work well with wm 6.5

resurrecting year old thread? :D lol
anyways, at time of app tablets weren't really around so much so it wasn't an issue.

The paid newer version seems to work though :S I use it with my ipad without problems (not android tablet to try with)

Have you used the HTC one? I found the attached cab file here at PPC Geeks a long time ago and have been using this with my HTC Touch Pro 2 ever since.

Hopefully this will work and allow your tablet to connect to it. I'm curious if it will work, please let us know...
