Re: Wm Wifi Router

Did you buy it? (pay for it) or are you using some cracked version you found out there?
If you are using a cracked version (besides it being wrong/illegal) everytime you start it the program connects to some server to verify the registration key. If it isnt correct then it will automatically shut down the program.
I am not saying that that is what you are using I am just saying that that is what happens.

well the reason y it shuts off its because the key might not be valid.....u need a valid key u have to click i think trial on the right hand side when u install it the first time.....i have it installed my friend gave me the key.....

seriously, refrain from talking about cracked/warez programs here. it is NOT ALLOWED.

Re: Wm Wifi Router

ok. We can't mention the "w" word. I paid for the app. it's great. Whether or not you have a cracked "w" version may make a difference. Bottom line, we can't help you unless you bought it. Mods said so. :(
I wish I could help, but this is the internet. And mods are the rulers of the forums here.

I know what your error is with wmwifirouter, but I'll need to see your receipt of purchase to help.

not sure i've ever seen this on a forum before. that a member asked to see another member's receipt before helping.

mods, is this the correct way to help someone when it is uncertain if the software has been purchased or is warez? should a complete ban on all software that COULD be warez be enacted? i think that happened with tomtom did it not?

ok. now i'll cut the crap. to stop all the nonsense of legality, we should adopt the military "don't ask don't tell" rule. if someone has a question, answer it if possible and lets stop being Big Brother. if they tell us it's warez, they should get a warning and possible banning (everyone should know the rules if they've been here long enough) and no questions be answered. otherwise, make the assumption they have a legal copy and move on. i realize that we all strive to be the best we can be and support programmers and developers and pay for software. i also realize the posibities of this site being shut down because of support of warez. however, asking someone for a receipt before helping them is way way way out there in my mind. then again, there are aliens mooning me outside my office window right now and giving me the finger, so my mind my not be the best around.

Well here is the problem, There are issues with prev versions of WMWifi not working on the TP we need to know what version of software is being used. If it is legit tell us and we can help. The poster who was asking for the Receipt was kidding.. We just cant be talking about Cracked Programs and such. You did c that there was a takedown notice sent to no2chem from Verisign.. That is what we are trying to keep from happening..

09/02/08 - ZERO-TOLERANCE REMINDERS

This is a reminder that this website has a ZERO-TOLERANCE policy on posting warez, asking for warez, or anything related to warez.

Since ESN cloning is also illegal, we also have a ZERO-TOLERANCE policy on posting cloning instructions, asking about cloning, or anything related to cloning.

You WILL be banned if you post anything about warez (keygens, serials, cracks, anything about getting paid software for free) or ESN cloning.

i get it. believe me. i've discussed in the forums how i used to write software for autocad and it was stolen by a coworker and sold as his. there was even a statement in the code that it was his person property. after that, i started locking the code.

so how do you plan on testing to see if it's legit or not? doesn't that present some problems?

Re: Wm Wifi Router

I would say we have to take the poster at their word that they have bought the product and are being truthful about that. We will help as much as we can if it comes down to it the poster may need to contact WMWifi for support and at that time it will come out if they bought it or not. And they may receive a PM from someone to help off the boards.

Re: Wm Wifi Router

Wow, you people seriously need to chill. Discussing if he has a warez version or not is nowhere the same as what was meant by not talking/asking about warez. Nobody is asking how or where to pirate this program, just seeing if he indeed has a legit copy or not.

Back on topic - do you seriously expect us to be mind readers to know what the error message is? That's like posting online that your car doesn't work and asking for help (and saying only that). We need to know wtf the error is to be able to help. Is it a temperature error (upgrade to latest wmwifi if so)? Or a key error (in that case, buy the program).

nerdtalker 11-24-2008 01:17 PM

Re: Wm Wifi Router

If you're indeed using the latest *legit* version, there is absolutely no problem running wmwifirouter on a stock TP install ROM. None at all.

The problem you're probably seeing is related to the battery temperature reading which wasn't correct in older versions. This is now fixed, and works.

Re: Wm Wifi Router

ok, yea that got really out of hand, i had version 1.1 i think, but i just updated the version, and it works now.

and yea i think that was pretty ridiculous when people want to see a receipt.
when anyone says don't mention illegal copies, than dont mention illegal copies. I understand if people ask me if its legal or not, which in some cases could mean if thats the problem, but no one is even giving sites or links.

but thanks to everyone though for the help.

so before i pay for the wm wifi router i want to make sure i cant get any other program for free that does the same thing. But if i have to pay for this program i will because it is sweet as hell but if i can save 20 bucks i want to because it getting close to christmas
if somebody would respone to this in a timely manner i will make sure i hit your thank you button thank you again fellow ppcgeekers

yeah im pretty sick of everyone trying to be a mod around here. if someone aint smart enough to read the rules then shame on them let em get banned. i love when people try to tell me what to do and when to do it like they are a mod here and only have like 50 posts. i mean seriously some people here need to go sit down and think about life.

anyways the google the .91 version. like i said its a free version. i wont post it even though it isnt considered (shhhhh dont say the "W" word) because it was free. just google it and youll find it and it works perfect in VGA on the diamond and pro

Hey, i installed wmwifirouter .91 then upgraded to the newest one (trial version) and now my wifi in general isnt really working. When i try to search for my home router just to surf the internet on it, nothing shows up. My neighbors network doesnt show up either. It says Networks to access: and no matter which one i click, nothing comes up

i get the same error you get..." error waiting for ICS and it sits there, although it boots up ICS and enables it."

Did you find any solutions?

Look under Program dude, it is called Inrernet Sharing...btw, did you guys create an ad-hoc connection? I have no prob using wimwifi, I do not ehave to go to ICS at all. I just make sure internet is connected by launching Pie, I turn on wifi and make sure it is connected to my ad-hoc connection, hit wifirouter and that is that...

Hey Wave0:) You must go to your wifi and set up a new connection, ad-hoc connection using a specific ip 192.168.0.1. also, I am sure you did the reg modification that are posted on the TP essentials.
Basically what I said earlier, my steps are as follow after setting up that ad hoc joint:
I launch Pie and close it
I turn on Wifi/ make sure that ad-hoc only is selected in the bottom, not access point, immediately I see that the ad-hoc connection is showing connected, close that out
And go to WIMOWIFIROUTER and click connect..5 seconds or 10 later lappy is happy and sees the same ad-hoc connection and all is good. No disconnect or heating prob hours at a time...If you continue to have prob let me know I will be able to get you some more detailed info...

You want to see overheating and charging issues, try streaming media (video) or downloading large files over it. She gets pretty hot... if you can keep it cooled off though it will go on and on with no hiccups. :)

Success! And, it was very simple to do.

HTC Touch Pro (Sprint), with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional (CE 5.2.19965 bld 19965.1.2.3)
Installed the Internet Sharing FIX.cab (Schwartz Tethering Fix), reboot
Turn on Wi-Fi, install WMWiFiRouter 0.91, reboot
Turn on Wi-Fi, start the WMWiFiRouter application, set it to assign DHCP (using IP Block 10.0.1.x), click 'Connect'

On my laptop, select the WMWiFiRouter SSID and click connect, BINGO!!!

Works great. See attached image below.
