I have both the soft keyboard "Full Qwerty" and working correction with the hard keyboard..

I followed the hack to correct auto correct and did a soft reset. At that time my phone was in "compact qwerty" mode when closed. All I did to correct this was the following steps

with phone closed
tap the softkeyboard on your screen, then tap just to the right of it
tap other input methods
tap options
in the Input menue method I selected "full qwerty" again hit ok

This did not work!!! sooo I opened the soft keyboard again and tapped just to the right and ensured that on the Touch input settings it was on full qwerty and not compact qwerty

this worked for me.....

I have auto correction in both hard and soft keyboards.. (NOT talking about T9)
and I have the full qwert keyboard in landscape and portriate mode..

It just seems like it is getting hung up and you need to force the change...

FYI T9 does not work anylonger... you are now using the what we had on the 6800

Re: Predictive Text on Sprint Touch Pro

now.. to continue this party... Since I no longer have T9 ability, I no longer can select T9 spanish and my lanuage abilities have diminished greatly ... if anybody can figure out how to utilize the spanish dictionary with the auto correct settings working that would be great..

All I did was re-edit the registry and put the files back to their original settings and then did a soft reset. I then edited the files again and made the changes mentioned earlier in this thread and did another soft reset. When my phone came back up, I then had the best of both worlds. I can use the hardware kb for long texts, emails, etc. or I can use the software kb to quickly answer a text in portrait mode.

I'm really not sure why it works after going back to the original settings and then modifying the registry again, but it does work the way I want it to.

Here are a couple of screenshots of it in landscape mode, but with the software kb active and also in portrait mode with the software kb active. I also included the zip file for both the original settings and the modified settings.
I lucked out and it all worked my first time changing it. Thanks!

Re: Predictive Text on Sprint Touch Pro

Just curious if anyone has found a fix for this. I would like to use the eT9 setting, becuase when you switch to the "old style" word correction you loose the SYM function on the hardware keyboard.

Yes that is what I wanted to say also. I don't want to play around with my registry. There has to be a fix for this that does not include messing around with the registry. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

Did you happen to notice that this was almost 8 months old, or even happen to read this thread below, yet?
