Upon reading the threads about the phone being available i swiftly ran 5 blocks to the Be$t Buy Mobile on 45th and Madison in NYC.

Long story short i was only able to get the 1 year upgrade price even though i was signing a 2 year contract extension

. and since i have $30 SERO plan i also missed out on the extra 20% off that i should have gotten. so all in all i paid $476 for this phone. i think i got ripped off. Should I/ Can i return it and get my money back and get the 2yr price from Sprint online in another week?

and after only playing with the phone for a few hours the stylus area of the phone is already jacked up. Basically there is a little spring mechanism near the entrance of the stylus area. Beware of how u insert the stylus back in to the phone. Ive somehow managed to wedge that piece into the corner or the area and have to manually move it back carefully every once in a while. Very annoying to say the least. looks like ill be taking this thing back first thing tomorrow for an exchange if they have one at my local Be$t Buy

The hell with all that, unless you have $$ to just hand out, get your $$ back. I mean it's cool to have the phone on the day of release and all but, if you can get a better deal thru Sprint then by all means go for it. Also, the stylus is magnetic, therefore, there is no need to push or force it back in as the magnets will attract. Anyways, a lot of people have gotten the reward zone 20% discount and said don't take no for an answer as long as you have the printout, they have to and will honor it.
There is a pdf version you can download just search the forums for it, I believe it's in the confirmed locations on or about the 25th page. That's just what I would do but ultimately, it's your time, your money, your investment but, I would get my money back and go through Sprint.

Yea i agree with you both and thing that i just might just return it. the BBY rep was real nice and was willing to do the discount but with my SERO plan he said he couldnt add the extra discount. He said Sprint had some new system (it showed me as paying 80 bux a month as opposed to the 30 a month i pay). When goint to activate the phone it said Failed like 3 times so we called sprint and they said that it was active and sure enough it was. so the Best Buy system given to them by sprint was screwed

I have $30 SERO plan and had zero issues getting my 20% off. Just had to wait for a manager to come over to authorize it.

Did you get the 2yr upgrade price of 299.99or the one year upgrade? How long have you been with SERO? Im exactly one yr in this month

I am exactly one year last month, but for some reason Sprint was showing $150 upgrade on mine line (and not the 2 others activated at the same time as mine). BB also saw me as being 2 year upgrade price. But yeah, I paid $299 - 20% + tax.

And just to be clear. You purchased your phone at a regular BBY or at a BBY Mobile like me??

Also my account shows that im locked in till 2010. can best buy reverse that or do i have to go through sprint? even if i return the phone the changes to my account have been made. all i really want to do is return the phone and repurchase it at the proper price. but if that means changing my plan then ill just have to live with the fact that i paid more for the phone than i should have

The price you pay isn't based on the length of contract extension you agree to, its based on how long you've had your current phone. If you've had your current phone for 12-22 months, BB's price is $460, 13-22 months its $300. BB gave you the correct price. If you return the phone and wait for Sprint, you will only qualify for $75 off ($580 -$75 = $505), so you are in fact getting a better deal with Best Buy. The $300 price from Best Buy/Sprint is only good for customers who have had their current phone for 22+ months.

However, you should have still been able to get the 20% off. When you go to exchange your phone, I would do my best to try and get that discount. I showed them the coupon online and since there wasn't anything to scan, the manager just did a manual price adjustment, which is what a lot of people here are reporting. Also, because I have a retention plan, the BB system was giving them an error when trying to renew my contract so they called up Sprint and Sprint instructed them to do a paper contract for me.
