Re: Hold on, HTC Touch Pro HD?...maybe I'll wait a little while?
Okay, I'm bumping this because I got my head chewed off for talking about a "blog," but I came across this while searching for more info on the Touch Pro:

Even though that looks INCREDIBLY tempting, I doubt it will come to the US. The economy is simply not good enough here. HTC would not be making as much money off of US customers than European/Asian customers.
Plus, that is a horrible rendering... it looks like a 30 second Photoshop job of the Touch Pro's keyboard and the Touch HD's face.

Ya.. I kinda figured its photoshopped. But its worth making and shipping over here even if I just buy it and no one else.

Regardless, still too long and wide a phone for what I'd consider convenient (even the HD by itself w/o keyboard). I'm still holding to the fact that if they figured out a way for the qwerty not to need as thick a keyboard space OR possibly making the screen portion thinner, that'd definitely be the exact type of phone I'd want. I have no problem upgrading as new technology comes along (as long as it adheres to my business and personal needs alike). |

eh its a nice device and a nice screen but i wouldnt carry it, its simply too big (height and width wise). Its bigger than the iphone which is already a big slab of a phone. I much prefer the dimensions of the Diamond/Pro.
Theres a huge size difference when he held the pro next to the HD in the video and I wouldnt want to put that in any pocket. I think the major reason they didnt make the HD for the US is that people simply wont buy enough of them to cover the R&D and marketing and all of that. Realize we here are MAYBE .001% of the cell phone users in the US. Itd cost them more to release it on cdma and gsm then its probably worth to them, plus they have the diamond and pro hitting all the carriers or right about to Last edited by SprintTouch08; 10-24-2008 at 12:33 AM. |

On another note, HTC specifically said that the touch HD would not be coming to the US, and this was reported on several news outlets. No mention of the touch HD pro, it seems to be a total rumor at this point. |
