I doubt they'd leave perfectly good an open potential connections unused on both models. Since one supports one and the other supports the other (and since the Verizon Diamond trades the 4GB onboard for the microSD), this is probably due to there being only one possible connection for "removable" memory. |

As for compression, those whole-drive compression methods had two major problems: performance (it took a lot of work to be constantly compressing and decompressing files) and reliability (they essentially converted the whole drive into one file, so any corruption would destroy everything), which is why they're pretty much non-existent now. Also I don't think the phones could handle that strain. I think I've already been corrected at least twice, but maybe it wasn't this thread. Hadn't realized they had changed it for the CDMA version when I wrote that. |
