I know people who had 6700's and 6800's without data plans on verizon. Will sprint let you get a ppc phone without a data plan? If so Sprint will do everything to force or entice people to get the data plan because $15 month x 24 months = $360. Built in FM is one more (tiny) reason not to get a data plan.

Now don't go off topic about "why would anyone not get a data plan?". Plenty of people already do - especially since verizon starts at $30 month.

I for one would rather have extra options rather than less, especially if its originally intended to include an FM radio. Not having an FM radio doesn't make the device smaller or cheaper by a substantial sum, so I don't see why it would be 'better' to not have it at all when you listen to internet radio anyway. Some people would rather have choice.

I already added the cab to my Diamond.. It's a no go. Even tried with their new headphones and adapters thinkin maybe theres something in there that the device recognizes, nope.. Maybe the pro will have it.. Lets hope. But I think the previous poster is correct in "sprint's limited radio" that they can charge for, why would they have an FM radio. Thats a revenue killer. And we all know sprint's idea on revenue. ."Lets make as much as we can, so that when we make mistakes it's not so bad." They crack me up.. Top notch phones, but horrible business practices.
